Bright Threads, Tanunda (2026)

Bright Threads is tabletop linen turned on its head - as beautiful, bright, eclectic, textured and mixy matchy as you want it to be. Fond childhood memories, and a passion for entertaining is the inspiration behind creating beautiful tablescapes while playfully mixing patterns and prints. My focus is tabletop textiles - napkins, runners, and tablecloths, aprons and tea towels - and recently I added colourful resin napkin rings.

This is where it begins.

Not with a mood board or a trend report. With a printing table in Bali, a paddle, and a team of artisans who have been doing this alongside me since 2017.

Every piece of Bright Threads linen is screen printed by hand. Each colour laid down separately, screen by screen, length by length. And because it is made by human hands - it is perfectly imperfect. A tiny variation in the print. A line that is ever so slightly off. I used to notice these things. Now I love them. They are the stamp that says - a person made this. Not a machine. A person, doing their craft, with extraordinary skill and care.

That is what you are bringing to your table.

What is made with this much intention stays longer. In your home and in your memory.

She is ten today.

I cannot quite believe it. I have been saying that all week and I still can’t.

We are heading to the pub for big schnitzels and hot chips and I intend to be fully present for every single moment of it.

But before I go - I want to say thank you.

To everyone who sent a note, a DM, a message for Skye’s birthday and for Bright Threads turning nine. It meant more than I can properly say. To everyone who shopped the sale - whether this was your first order or you have been here from the very beginning - thank you. You are wonderful humans, every single one of you.

And if this is your first order - welcome. This is a community of like-minded people who love to gather around a table, share tall stories and slurpable wines and feed the people they love. I am so glad you are here.

She turns 10 on Sunday. And I have been thinking about that a lot.

Skye has been with me through every single stage of building Bright Threads. From the very first shoot - when she was two and a half and I was heavily pregnant - to Bali, to Sea Change, to right now.

She even designed a collection for me. That collection still means everything to me. I have saved pieces to gift her when she’s older.

I started Bright Threads because I couldn’t find what I was looking for. Table linen that was joyful and imperfect and made for the kind of hosting that is relaxed and generous and genuinely fun.

The kind where the napkins don’t match on purpose. Where starters are served at the kitchen bench so people find each other before they sit down. Where the old preserve bucket at the end of the bench is full of ice and wine and nobody has to ask where anything is.

I realised a long time ago that I was making this for myself. And for everyone who hosts exactly the same way.

Back home and already scrolling through the cookbooks for weekend meal inspiration. Some things never change.

And while we’re here - can we talk about linen tea towels for a second? The most hardworking thing in my kitchen. They wash brilliantly, get better with every use, and they actually absorb things. Revolutionary, I know. Same luxe quality as the table linens.
