I love how furniture tells stories or invoke memories.
This little high chair was made 93 years ago. I love the story, some things never change in history like you think your finished having children and a " surprise" comes along. Thats the story of this highchair. A surprise baby after 5 children. They had given everything away and so the dad made this highchair for their 6th child. She was born in Harvey Bay in 1933 and is 93 years young.
Its a well made highchair to be passed down with its story for many generations.
My Mums who is 92 years young, story is a little different she was 9th of 12 children. Mum was born in 1934 after 2 daughters then 5 sons. Mum loves to tell the story " Dad said after 5 boys Im naming her afer me Carmel " His name was Carmelo ( Charlie when he came to Australia). She was in a rush and arrived at home.They went on to have 4 more children.

They are not really old but made locally.
These Beautiful Silky oak chairs are now back in used on a Queensland Verandah.

Delivered this little cabinet to its home today. It was painted inside and out. It originally came from an old beach house owned by family at Grasstree.
# We replaced the side mesh with retan for a clean fresh look.
# When stripping draws I discovered that the cutlery deviders were originally the side trims on top. # see last picture. We added them back to where they originally came from.
# Replaced handles with cup handles facing one way
Very happy with colour of timber

This little high chair was owned by grandmother of current owner. Its a cherished family piece passed down and given a new lease of life.
Its turn of century and is Blackwood and Pine. I feel the tray may be new its top light for piece.
Tip: When stripping curves apply st****er then wrap with glad wrap leave for 30 mins to an hour before scraping and washing with metho. If your lucky it will work. This had undercoat. It doesnt work on undercoat that had to be sanded.
