I won’t be at the Pakenham Woolcraft Day this Sunday as I will be attending a four day Creativity and Mindfulness Retreat with Prue Simmons of Dyeing To Weave 😊🧶💖

I’m excited to spend some time relaxing and working on my personal creativity, getting a refresh and some perspective on where I’m heading. I’ve planned this for almost a year now, and have been waiting for a long time for a chance for some me time 🧖‍♀️🫠🧶🧵💖

If you’re looking to get some Dyed By Hand Yarns and are disappointed I won’t be in Pakenham this Sunday, then I still have two markets left this year in November (Mornington) and December (Lower Templestowe). I’ll be updating my markets page when I return from my retreat. Of course there is ways the website where yarn is available 24/7 for your next project needs 😊🧶💖

Dyed By Hand Yarns will be in our usual spot in Woolcraft at the Australian Sheep and Wool Show! I’m so excited to be returning to Bendigo! 🤩🧶💖

We are located in the McKinnon Pavilion in Woolcraft, building 23 on the map, near Gate 1 (not the main gate). I usually have a couple of mannequins wearing colourful shawls outside the roller doorway to help you find us. I’m really looking forward to seeing all the regular customers and vendors, meeting new people, sharing creative ideas and just enjoying my huge “Fibre Family”. Not long to go now!

That’s it folks: the dyepots are now closed as I finalise my preparations for the Australian Sheep and Wool Show next weekend! I’m now enjoying a well deserved late lunch of trashy 2minute noodles before washing and drying the last six kilos of yarn

Over the next couple of days will be the skeining, labelling, inventory and packing, whilst working two days at the hospital. Oh and packing my clothes too (don’t forget the socks this year Julie! 🧦).

I know I’ve been a bit quiet here recently: like many vendors I’ve been busy dyeing up a storm for the Bendigo Sheep and Wool Show. I can’t believe it’s only seven sleeps away! 😱🧶🧶🧶😆

Shown here is the 8kg yarn that I washed today, now hanging inside to dry. I should have one more wash day at the end of the weekend, a much smaller 4kg. I have lots of yarn in the Sunburnt Country palette as well as a couple of new colours, and a few other surprises for you all!

Thank you to everybody who attended the Melbourne Fibrefest over the weekend. Your presence, support and purchases help keep small businesses going. We put a lot of work into bringing you the best items and ideas that we can, often planning and working for weeks and months in advance.

A big thank you to all the organisers and volunteers of the Hand Knit and Crochet Guild VIC for managing the market, setting up, running the event, checking in on vendors and coordinating us all for another fabulous event. Without all your efforts we wouldn’t have a reason to meet and share creativity.

A personal thank you to all those who helped me or offered help: Steve for keeping me caffeinated, Tess for helping me set up when I was starting to panic, Gaby and Hannah for providing lunch and relief on Sunday as well as helping pack up and load my car. Thank you to other vendors I got a chance to talk to, for sharing ideas and all of your support.

Now for the big unpack, inventory check, and to start planning for the Big One in Bendigo; only seven and a half weeks to go! 😱😅🌈🧶💖
