It’s WEEK ONE and this week we’re decluttering the living room and office nook.

Here's what Edel, the Great Aussie Clear Out ambassador had to say about this week,

"I’ve been really focused on clearing out stuff that we no longer use so I can get some space back.

I’m also working out what I can add to my garage sale as part of ☺️

Please join me in The Great Aussie Clear Out.

Here’s how you can prevent clutter 👇👇

Decluttering is important but understand where clutter is coming from and PREVENTING it building up is also important.

Here are some things to remember 👇

1. You are the gatekeeper of your home and you can decide what gets to come and out.
Practice being mindful about obtaining items that may be potential clutter (and don’t be afraid to say no).

2. Sleep on those purchasing decisions. Impulse decisions are made too easy these days - we can buy stuff with the tap of a finger.
Often these purchases are made at night when we’re tired or restless. Try your best to sleep on these decisions as you’ll have much more clarity after sleep.

3. Shop your own home first!
Being resourceful inside your own home will save you a lot of money, and clutter. Instead of buying new, start using what you already have.

Hope these tips help!

Keep decluttering, and remember is a fantastic way to reduce your stuff in a sustainable and practical way. ♻️🌎💗

Here’s a bonus tip for getting started👇

As we approach National Decluttering Day, and I wanted to share some tips to help you get started.

It’s totally normal to feel overwhelmed but if you follow these simple practical tips, you’ll get into the rhythm of decluttering very quickly.

1. Set up a designated area/box for donations or sell items - this means you have a place for them. You can add items as you identify them.

2. Write a list with the priority spaces you want to declutter. Then for each space, list more specific areas, e.g. drawer set, cabinet.
This will help you stay focused on one small area at a time. It’s important to tick off spaces on your list as you go to track progress.

3. Start with a communal or personal space. This is important as it will help others in your home to understand what decluttering means, and hopefully inspire them to join in. You also get to enjoy a more clutter free organised space.

4. (BONUS TIP). Identify the items to DEFINITIVELY want/need to keep first. This can help with decision-making when it comes to deciding what can go.

Hope this helps!
