Another one in the books for the team. Outdoor installed and looking great, transforming an open patio into a proper all-weather space. There's something really satisfying about seeing a space go from exposed to sorted, and our install crew never disappoints.

Winter hit last week and it hit hard. If you've been spending the last few days rugged up inside trying to stay warm, this one's for you.

The good news is that a bit of cold weather doesn't have to mean months of hiding indoors. The right solutions can completely change how usable your outdoor space is through the cooler months, blocking the wind, trapping warmth and turning what would otherwise be an unusable area into somewhere you actually want to spend time.

You've got a few months of winter ahead of you, letโ€™s make them count.

There's something about natural fibres that just makes a home feel warmer in winter. Linen S-wave curtains pooling softly on wool carpet, textures that work together rather than compete, all adding to that settled, lived-in feeling that's hard to manufacture but instantly recognisable when you walk into a room that has it right.

Window furnishings play a bigger role in that than most people realise. The right fabric doesn't just look good, it changes the whole temperature of a space, both literally and in the way it feels to be in it.

From the very first conversation through to the final install, everything we do at BNS is handled in house by our own team. No third parties, no handoffs, no gaps in communication between one part of the process and the next.

We take care of the measure, the product selection, the order, the installation and everything that comes after. That means when our installers leave your home, the job is genuinely finished. Every piece of rubbish removed, every shutter blade dusted down, every S-wave curtain dressed and sitting exactly where it should be.

And throughout the whole process, we keep you in the loop. You'll always know where your order is at and what happens next. That's just how we think it should be done.

Josh and John built this business on the belief that the right products, installed properly and chosen for the right reasons, genuinely make a difference to people's lives at home. Every testimonial we receive is a reminder of why that still matters to the whole team, from the first consultation through to the final install.

Thanks to everyone who takes the time to share their experience with us. It means more than you know.

The way we work with clients has come a long way. A quick measure and a catalogue selection used to be the standard, and for a long time it was enough. But as the products evolved, so did our understanding of what actually leads to a great result.

Seeing materials in your own light, feeling how a fabric moves, having someone sit with you and talk through not just what looks good but what performs well for your specific space and lifestyle.

That shift from transactional to design-led is what changed everything about the experience our clients have with us. And it's why we do every consultation the way we do it now.

It's the small things. The way something sounds when it closes. Whether it catches, clicks or just settles quietly into place. Those are the details that shape how a product feels to live with every single day, and they're exactly the kind of thing we think about when we're specifying products for our clients.

Picking a fabric for your S-wave curtains is one of those decisions that a small swatch just can't do justice to. You need to see how it moves, how it falls, how it responds to light when it's in motion. The difference between a fabric that looks right and one that feels right in your home is something you experience with your hands, not just your eyes.

That's a big part of why we do what we do. When our team comes to you, they bring long-length samples that give you a real sense of how a fabric is going to behave once it's installed. Not a guess. Not a hope. An informed decision made in your own space, in your own light, with someone who knows exactly what to look for.

Shutters have been around for thousands of years and there's a reason they're still one of the most sought after window furnishings in the world. That's not a trend. That's staying power.

From the stone louvred openings of ancient Greece to the timber jalousies of colonial architecture, the shutter has evolved in material and construction but never in purpose. Light control, privacy, airflow and protection from the elements. The same four things people are still asking for today.

In a world where interior trends move fast, there's something genuinely reassuring about choosing a product that has looked at home in every era it has lived through. Shutters don't date because they were never really a trend to begin with. They're just a very good solution to a very old problem.
