Some fun things of late!

20/08/2026

A heartfelt update 🤍

After a lot of thought, I’ve made the difficult decision to stop taking new macrame orders.

I will, of course, finish and honour the orders I already have booked in, but once those are complete, I won’t be accepting any more custom macrame orders.

Macrame was the start and has been such a huge part of Desert Swell. Unfortunately the ongoing wear and tear on my hands is catching up with me and I have some different business prospects in the works 💫

I honestly cannot put into words how grateful I am for the love and support Desert Swell has received over the years. Every order, message, market purchase, recommendation, share and kind word has meant more than you know.

What started as a creative outlet became something so much bigger, and I’m incredibly proud of what I’ve built and of all the beautiful pieces I’ve had the privilege of creating for you.

Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for supporting my little business and allowing me to do what I love for so many years ❤️‍🔥

While macrame orders are coming to an end, Desert Swell isn’t disappearing just yet! I’ll still be offering laser engraving and personalised pieces for a little longer while I work out what the next chapter of Desert Swell looks like.

P.S I am happy to hold workshops to teach others but I just need to find the right space to do so 🤍

What a lovely couple of days! 🤍 Thank you so much, Jarndunmunha Festival, for having me!

It may not have been quite as busy as we’d hoped, and the red dirt & dust certainly gave us a run for our money 😂 — but hey… welcome to the Pilbara! ❤️🧡

We’ve got a few goodies left over, so if you missed out at the festival or you’re looking for a last-minute gift, there are still some pieces available! 💝

Thank you to everyone who stopped by, said hello and supported my little business. It means so much! ✨

Another custom order out the door! 🎉✨

How adorable are these personalised acrylic cake toppers? 💖

One of my favourite things about these keepsake toppers is that they’re not just for one celebration—they can be used year after year, creating special birthday memories every time. Made from durable acrylic, they’re sturdy, easy to clean, and designed to last.

Available in your choice of colours, fonts and personalised with any name to make every birthday extra special. 🎂

🌵 DESERT SWELL IS TAKING A BREAK 🌵

After a busy first half of the year, Desert Swell will be taking a short break throughout July 2026.

If you have been thinking about ordering a custom laser engraved gift, sign, macramé piece, or any personalised creation, please get your orders in as soon as possible to ensure they are completed before July.

Orders received closer to the end of June may not be ready until August, so don’t leave it too late!

Thank you to everyone who has supported my small business. Your orders, shares, likes, and kind words mean the world to me. 💛

I look forward to creating for you again when I return in August.

🚲🔥 The BMX North West Super Series is in Tom Price this weekend! 🔥🚲

Head down to the BMX track today and watch riders of all ages from across the Pilbara battle it out on the track. Whether you’re a competitor or a spectator, it’s an incredible community to be part of and a fantastic event to support.

There’s also a raffle running throughout the day, with many amazing Tom Price businesses generously donating some fantastic prizes — definitely worth grabbing a ticket!

Desert Swell was proud to create and donate this custom sign as one of the raffle prizes.

Racing is happening from now until around lunchtime, so come down, cheer on the riders, and enjoy some awesome pedal-powered action! 🚴💨
