Unfortunately, the Volunteers get first pick, including Mrs O, the longest serving Volunteer, she has however been caught out by a doner, who caught her out wearing her donated dress! Mmmm BUSTED! 😝

Yes….. the TOORAK OP SHOP, is more than happy to accept your donations, as long as the staff, get first pick, which of course they do! Don’t be fooled by the so called altruistic philosophy of this shop! Donate elsewhere, and get transparency!

This is actually a joke and the fact that the staff and management do this is disgraceful…. How can management support this and volunteers actively support this behaviour is beyond comprehension!

Yes, unfortunately the sales staff are encouraged to actively go out and purchase stock from other opshops at a seriously low price and then bring it back to Toorak op shop and sell at a massively inflated price! This is not only sanctioned but, encouraged from the CEO PHILLIP THOMAS ! Yes it’s unfortunate when the management ie Phillip Thomas, give Mrs O…. The longest serving volunteer, to go out and purchase stock! It’s a pretty sad state of affairs? Let’s not totally blame Phillip Thomas, as MRS O actually instigated and suggested it! In the first place!

Ok, so enough said about the negativity and posts on here: the facts are as follows:
The CEO has changed the constitution to allow discounts, if you ask!
Yes they do allow staff to go out and purchase stock at a cheaper prices and then bring them back to sell at a higher price… fair enough…but at 600% markup, I think is a bit unfair?
And yes, the staff DO get first pick of the donations and pay a ‘gratuitous price’ if anything, thinking, it’s they’re right to get it for free!
And Finally, the longest standing ‘Volunteer’ does get first pick and has been caught out, by a donor, saying, YOUR wearing my dress! You be the judge?

Oh and for those wondering, but actually do know ‘ the staff is NOT OLD TOORAK, but NOU VO RICHE! She would like to think she’s ’Old Money’ but she’s far from it! Think Pegs-yes, Pegs- that’s where her money comes from lol 😝

Volunteer actually says when purchasing, from another op shop and I quote’ I’m needing suits for a school play’ when in actual fact, she’s purchasing for the shop!!! This is an absolute disgrace! But authorised by management!

Yeah, it’s a given fact that a volunteer is given permission from CEO Phillip Thomas to actively go to other op shops and purchase stock, to then resell at the Toorak Op Shop! How is that even possible? It’s a disgrace

So it’s a well known fact that the staff have first pick of the stock! And to the absolute embarrassment that a volunteer was caught out by a donor, who had saw her wearing her donated dress!
