Five years ago today, I lost my mum. 🤍
Something I don’t talk about much on here is that Loops & Layers carries a little piece of her with it.
Mum and I always talked about selling our crafts together. It was a little dream we shared, but sadly, we never got the chance to actually do it.
When I eventually started putting my own creations out into the world, it felt like in some small way I was carrying that dream forward for both of us.
At Mum’s funeral, I had little laser cut wooden hearts made to hand out to everyone as something to remember her by. Afterwards, I worked with a local Toowoomba artist who incorporated one of those hearts into this piece, surrounded by flowers in Mum’s favourite colours, green and purple, and a little dragonfly because she absolutely loved dragonflies.
It captured her so perfectly and has become such a special little reminder of her. 💜
Loops & Layers has grown into something that is very much my own, but she will always be a little part of the reason behind it.
Five years on, I think she’d be pretty proud to see that our little dream of selling our creations became real after all. 💜💚💜
