Bath time, mealtime, and bedtime are full of special moments, and a few safety checks make them worry-free.

Before bath time, test the water temperature and keep everything within reach so your little one is never unattended. For mealtime, check for choking hazards and keep small objects out of reach. At bedtime, make sure the sleep space is clear of loose blankets and toys.

These simple steps can help prevent accidents and give you peace of mind.

Small snacks can turn into big dangers in seconds.

Foods like whole grapes, nuts, and hard candies might seem harmless but can quickly become choking hazards for little ones.

Cut grapes and cherry tomatoes in half and avoid giving popcorn or nuts to children under four. Always watch your child while they eat.

Comment CHOKEWISE if you want more tips on keeping your child safe from choking.

A heartfelt thank you to Play & Grow Play Centre for hosting our Baby First Aid session this afternoon and creating such a welcoming space for local families.

A special thank you to Pembroke Resources for providing funding support, making it possible for Moranbah parents and carers to attend this important training.

It was wonderful to see so many families committed to learning essential first aid skills. Together, we are helping parents feel educated, empowered, and confident to respond in an illness or emergency and potentially save a child's life.

Do you know when “just watching” your child isn’t enough after a fever, breathing trouble, or a head knock?

Sometimes, what seems like a minor symptom can signal something more serious. Rapid breathing, persistent vomiting, or unusual drowsiness aren’t signs to ignore.

Trust your instincts and act quickly if you notice any worrying signs. Your prompt response could make all the difference.

Learn how to spot these red flags and feel confident in your first aid skills.

As part of National Burns Awareness Month, we are joining our prevention partners, Kidsafe Australia and ANZBA, to raise awareness of friction burns.

Friction burns occur when skin comes into contact with a hard or moving surface, causing damage through both friction and heat.

These injuries can happen during everyday activities involving:

🛴 eScooters and eRideables
🚲 Bicycles
🏍️ Motorcycles
🏃 Treadmills
🛹 Skateboards
⚙️ Moving machinery

Follow along our social media posts this week as we raise awareness of the common causes of friction burns, how to prevent them, and the first-aid steps to take if an injury occurs.
