The quite luxury of motorised curtains.

Blockout or sheer, they earn their keep when taking the glare off the afternoon, keep a room private without dimming it, and soften the heat coming through the glass. Living made easier when they close and open themselves.

The best part is the part you stop noticing.

Most laundries are an afterthought. This one isn't.

Floor to ceiling timber cabinetry, a long continuous bench, and a tucked-away washing machine that doesn't fight for attention. Everything has a place.

A space you'll use twenty times a day, designed like it.

Most people pick a kitchen colour and then talk themselves out of it. This client didn't.

Navy joinery, gloss floor tiles, brass tapware, and a double island because one was never going to be enough. Bold on every surface, and still a kitchen that works hard.

The bathrooms follow the same logic. Dark tiles, black basins, gold tapware. Dramatic without being difficult to live in.

This is what a home looks like when someone knows what they want and doesn't need convincing.

The colour people regret isn't the one they loved. It's the one that was trending.

The colours that last are the ones you actually love, and softer earthy tones are the easiest to keep loving. They settle in rather than shout, so you won't tire of them as quickly as a borrowed trend.

That's the thinking behind this bathroom. Blush rather than bright. A concrete basin and square pink tiles, softened by white so the colour stays fresh without competing.

Terracotta, olive green, dusty blue. The tones we come back to, because they outlast anything too 'pop'.

Texture does a lot of the work here.

Handmade-look brick tiles run wall to wall, catching the light differently at every hour. A floating oak vanity with matte black pulls keeps it grounded, and the window lets the outside in without giving anything away.

Warm, calm, and built to feel good every single morning.

The best hotel rooms get one thing right. They make it easy to stop.

That's what we were after here. Warm tones, textured feature, soft lighting set low, and a calm you can feel the moment you walk in.

Somewhere to switch off, not just sleep.

Behind every project on the grid, a day that looked like this.

Selections laid out. Plans marked up. A second opinion across the room, a third one across the phone.

The work that never makes the grid is the work that makes the rooms.

One of the most common questions we get: where should I spend, and where can I save?

The honest answer depends on the home and how you live in it. But after years of designing Queensland kitchens, bathrooms, and full builds, the pattern is consistent.

Spend on the bones you can't easily change later and the things your hands touch every single day. Be thoughtful about the rest, and know what can wait.

You're not sad, you just need a new bathroom.

The room you use first thing in the morning sets the tone for the day. Bad lighting, a vanity that's never quite enough, a shower you work around rather than enjoy.

You stop noticing it. But you don't stop feeling it.
If this hit a little too close, that's probably worth paying attention to.

It's what's missing that makes this kitchen work.

No handles. No appliance fronts breaking the cabinetry. No competing finishes on the floor or walls. Just a veined stone island, warm timber overhead, and brass tapware doing the lifting where it counts.

Restraint is the whole design.
