𝗘𝗻𝗱𝗼 𝗟𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗧𝗵𝗮𝗶𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱 & PODIUM recently came together to create something worth visiting: "𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗘𝗰𝗼𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺 𝗼𝗳 𝗙𝗲𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴" - a space where furniture, lighting, materials, and spatial design work together to shape how a room truly feels. 𝗘𝗻𝗱𝗼 𝗟𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗧𝗵𝗮𝗶𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱 & 𝗣𝗢𝗗𝗜𝗨𝗠, in this collaboration, bring exactly that kind of thinking to the table: lighting that becomes one with the space, not just a fixture within it.

That kind of effort reflects something deeper. Since 1967, Endo has pursued a single idea rooted in the Japanese philosophy of Monozukuri: use less, create more, and build a new relationship between people and the light they live inside.

DJCoalition spent an afternoon here, walking the space, comparing notes on the spot, and following the conversation all the way to the control room, where the real mechanics of it all live.

1. Demonstrated tunable lighting in different living scenarios to help you easily understand the benefits of tunable lighting.
2. Demonstrated how luminaires with different reflector finishes create different ceiling appearances and lighting effects.
3. The showroom experience will help you understand the differences in colour temperature, beam angles, and lighting functions of each fixture, including the applications and effects of different beam types.
4. The showroom is available for your visits at any time, allowing you to further experience and review the lighting solutions and effects.

Every site has a story before the first drawing is made. Bintan's story is one of the sea, centuries of trade winds and tidal rhythms, of a coastline that has always known how to receive people.

Hotel Indigo Bintan Lagoi Beach was designed to honour that. Architecture shaped to frame the water, interiors rooted in the maritime heritage of the Riau Archipelago, a landscape that brings the island's coastal character back to the ground beneath your feet.

Our role was to read that story and let light tell it, from the exterior that settles into blue hour rather than interrupts it, to the lobby that holds warmth while opening entirely to the sea, to the bar and dining spaces where amber on timber creates the kind of intimacy that makes people stay longer than they planned, to the guestrooms where layered light shifts with the person inside, not just the hour on the clock, like the way a well-designed space supports rest without announcing it.

The result is a building that belongs to its landscape after dark, grounded, present, and honest to where it stands.

- Produce renders and process design concept.
- Works closely with the managers to review work for design integrity, accuracy, clarity, and quality.
- Find solutions to balance project budgets related to the lighting scope of work.
- Researches new products, working methods, and technology trends within the lighting design profession.
- Develop and work on drawings, specifications, load schedules, and control schedules for all projects.
- Attends on-site meetings with clients, contractors, and project team members.
- Manage design timeline to deliver design reports and documents on time for project deadlines.

𝗞𝗘𝗬 𝗥𝗘𝗤𝗨𝗜𝗥𝗘𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧
- Minimum 3 years of experience with a design studio, lighting knowledge is a plus.
- Understanding of construction processes & workflow.
- Good at design detailing and also knows materials and technical requirements.
- Strong experience with AutoCAD, Photoshop, Dialux, Microsoft Office, and Bluebeam.
- Fluent in spoken and written English is necessary.
- Experience in presenting design.

At 𝗔𝗻𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗿𝗮 𝗠𝗮𝗶 𝗞𝗵𝗮𝗼’𝘀 𝗦𝗲𝗮 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝗲 𝗦𝗮𝗹𝘁 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘁, our lighting design was driven by a simple yet profound mission: to bring the treasures of nature indoors and create a profound connection between guests and the coastal environment.

The commissioning phase was particularly magical. We worked meticulously to ensure our lighting doesn't compete with the horizon, but rather complements the sunset, ensuring that while guests marvel at the natural beauty of Phuket, the light around them fosters genuine human connection.

A definitive highlight of this journey was collaborating with 𝗦𝗢𝗗𝗔 to design the iconic "Raindrop" decorative light, transforming it into a centerpiece that mimics the gentle, organic rhythm of nature. A huge thank you to the team for such inspiring work.

Under the gentle Hue sun, we stopped by a very special home, a place where “Hope” is woven from the resilient hands of those who defy life’s challenges. Putting aside the daily hustle, we had the wonderful opportunity to sit alongside the brothers and sisters at Hope CenterHue, immersing ourselves in the world of clay and colourful plastic strips.

A huge thank you to Hope CenterHue for your warm hospitality, for the lessons in perseverance, and for giving us a quiet moment to realise that happiness is simply doing something kind together. The trip may have ended, but the memories and lessons of kindness we found here will remain forever in the hearts of every DJCoalition member.

The way we light a space dictates how we perceive our environment. When lighting design is authentically tuned to its location, it does more than illuminate; it connects. By creating environments where people feel truly seen and connected, we encourage them to invest their time and energy. This is how buildings transcend their physical footprint to become successful, integrated pillars of the community.

We recently had the privilege of applying this philosophy to the 𝗬𝗧𝗘𝗖𝗢 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴. In this project, history, light, and corporate identity converge to create a functional landmark that respects its roots. Uncovering the story is the key; retelling it through light is our passion.

𝗟𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗧𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲
At Anantara Hua Hin Resort’s Seafire Salt, we’ve used light to bridge the gap between guests and the natural world, bringing the "treasures of nature" to life.

Our goals for lighting here are to highlight the architectural and interior design features, such as columns, tent roofs, and wall textures. Last but not least, the sunset is one of the treasures here. To honour the beauty of the sunset, we’ve synced our design to enhance the "golden hour," ensuring a seamless, soul-stirring transition from natural to artificial light.

Lighting, much like architecture, does not exist in a vacuum. Before a single sketch is drawn or a developer breaks ground, a site already possesses a soul—a context. As David Skelley, Founding Director of DJCoalition, beautifully puts it:
“Context is like a story that’s waiting to be told.”

At the heart of true Placemaking is "𝘾𝙤𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙭𝙩𝙪𝙖𝙡 𝙍𝙚𝙨𝙤𝙣𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙚". It’s about creating lighting environments that are unique and authentic to their specific surroundings. When a project is connected to its location, it is loved and embraced by the community, leading to cleaner, safer, and more connected communities.
