My recently completed Vakka Vest. Another fantastic and thoughtful pattern by our friend Susanna kaartinen knit in our 8ply/DK Forest Fae yarn 🧚🌳

I love the basket weave pattern and chunky cable on the side seam. And Susanna always designs the best necklines. This is going to quickly become a favourite layering piece in my wardrobe.

Although we don’t currently have any this specific yarn currently in stock, this vest would look great in any of our 8pky/DK Fae Collection yarns. I knit size 4 and used almost exactly 3 skeins (with just a small amount left over).

All set up and ready to go for Knitters' Guild NSW FibreFest tomorrow! Doors open at 10am at Wyong Racecourse. Free Entry. Paul and Desmond will be there - they can’t wait to see your recently completed projects, WIPs and hear your plans for your next project or two! We have so much fibre and yarn available for spinning and felting and knitting and weaving and crocheting.

We are busily getting things organised for Knitters' Guild NSW FibreFest THIS SUNDAY at Wyong Racecourse on the NSW Central Coast. We will have LOADS of gorgeous fibre and yarn from our mill as well as a selection of undyed luxury yarns.

You will find us in our “regular spot” inside the pavilion building (the white building to the left of the main entrance to the grounds).

We hope to see you there!

We’ve sold out of our roving packages but still have a limited number of yarn packages available. The yarn will be blended and spun in our mini mill on the NSW Central Coast. All fibre will be non-superwash Merino wool (with a bit of silk threads thrown in), commercially dyed with blends created and produced by us. Both packages use the same colour designs based on this year’s mood board.

Earlier this year, I was fortunate to test knit two designs from gudrunjohnston newest book Shetland Shades: Stories in Wool. Her designs are fantastic and I loved knitting both of these. They are both knit in yarn from our mill. We spin a woollen-spun non-superwash yarn and the fabric it creates is lofty, light and warm.

First up is the Vaddel Neckerchief in the colourways from our Earth Collection. This project is the perfect size to keep the chill off without the bulk of a large shall.

Second is the Skelf vest. I used this a fun stash buster and a great way to play with colour. Knitting with 3 strands of fi*****ng weight 4ply yarn held together, this vest knits up quickly!

There are so many other great patterns in this book! I can’t wait to knit more of them. And they will all look great in our yarn. The book will be available later this month!

We are excited to see our Sydney customers this Saturday at the Hand Weaver Spinner Guild NSW Spring Market at Brush Farm in Eastwood! We will be in the hall alongside some other really great vendors. Come and support your local fibre arts small businesses! The weather looks to be good and it is going to be a great day!
