Ever since I did a post the other week about my house being a shoot location, I’ve had lots of people asking questions about my house again.

So! If you’re new here… here’s the long story short: solo Mum (me) with a 9-month-old baby, convinced a bank manager to loan her money to buy a 90-year-old Queenslander, started renovating it, and built a styling business at the same time.

Then, after I’d renovated it a little bit, it got written about in a local magazine. When that magazine came out, it was dropped off at a local cafe. The son of the first lady to ever live here and his wife saw the article while having a cuppa, recognised the front door, and emailed me!

Next thing I knew, they were coming over for morning tea. They told me all about the history of my house, Mrs Bennett, the first lady to live here, and then gave me a collection of photos of my house through the years. And then they dropped off the original dining chair that belonged to the family.

I couldn’t have dreamed this story up even if I tried. It was like the movie ‘Under the Tuscan Sun’, but a Nambour version, lol.

Anyways… since settling into my role as Creative Director and Stylist here at Wholehearted Studio, and being busy working on shoots myself, it is so rewarding to now get to share my artisan Queenslander as a shoot location.

One of the highlights of the past few months was being invited to style this beautifully restored Queenslander on the shores of Lake Weyba for its editorial debut in Country Style magazine.

I first heard about Matt and Bec’s vision for the home years ago and knew it was something special. After a long renovation journey, stepping into the finished space was a joy — it is obvious in every detail that so much thought and consideration has been put into this project to reflect their family, their story, and the way they live.

At the beginning of every year I know about a third of the work we have coming in, the rest is unknown. That other two thirds? Well that requires a bit of hope, trust, hard work, and saying my prayers each night that good things, projects and people will cross our path!

And tonight’s one of those times where good things have happened, and I get to share that we’re on the cover this month of Australian Country Style magazine! And for a stunning Sunshine Coast home too. ♥ 𝒟𝒾𝒶𝓂𝑜𝓃𝒹 𝒞𝑜𝓉𝓉𝒶𝑔𝑒 𝐵𝓁𝑜𝑜𝓂𝓈 ♥ has been so lovingly restored and renovated, and this issue is filled with lots of other beautiful homes and photos.

If you know me, you'll know I like my house to look (almost!) photoshoot-ready every day.

I've tried embracing the "messy creative" approach, but it never works for me. Instead of feeling freer, I just feel more stressed. So I keep coming back to my favourite saying (which I picked up off my real Dad who used to do the merchandising in his music store), "tidy house, tidy mind!"

And so it made total sense to use this gift for good and make my home a shoot location.

We’ve hosted the likes of Ziggy Alberts, James Lane, Carlotta + Gee, Flint, Salt Living (just this week!) and Petal & Pup. It’s been so exciting to see my home reimagined through other people’s eyes and creativity (not to mention the bonus of being able to blame a photo shoot to justify my fastidiousness at home).

Guess what? Our services have never once had an ad run for them!

Even when I was working on my own and just starting out, all our enquiries came from word of mouth or from clients referrals. Our most engaged followers are my Mum (lol), friends, followers who found us way back or more recently and, of course, some of our clients. It is something I have always been super proud of.

I am so appreciative of all of you who follow along here and tell your friends and colleagues about us. It means a lot to me!
