It’s not as easy as it looks🤣
My dad approached me about doing some of his own mugs for his Thursday morning coffee catchup. Now my dad is 80 and a tech college trained draftsman whose hand writing and neatness was noted and was something I aspired to growing up. I’m sure he thought it would be easy to write a few quirky quotes on a mug. It obviously proved not to be despite trying to follow my instructions. The biggest instruction he simply could not follow was ….. you need to be gentle. I honestly had to stop watching how he was handling the mugs and I’m sorry dad but I just could not bring myself to fire them in the kiln😂.I do have his permission to write this post and show you the photos.

A little experimentation with marbling to try and create a flame effect and some old agricultural equipment as a photo backdrop, plus a little video editing ….. what do you think of the final video result? Oh and the design too as well 😊

This one of a kind custom order was placed with me at the Aberdeen Highland Games, with the Clan MacKinnon crest and motto. It was quite a challenge taking 2 1/2 hours looking through a magnifying light working with a 0.2mm scribe at times to finely hand etch out the letters and design. I think it looks amazing and can’t believe I achieved it. What do you think?
