My greatest loss, my Grandad. 🤍
A short time ago I closed our business down for a couple of months. We lost the heart and soul of our family, my Grandad.
This was the first significant loss in my immediate family and it bloody hurt, it still does - this week especially.
This man was the most humble human being that I have ever met - he really never knew just how great he was. He was kind and he had the kind of strength that doesn’t exist anymore but… he was still warm… he was trustworthy but most importantly…. He raised the incredible man that instilled all of his morals and principles in me. His stories were amazing, I miss those the most but I am so grateful I had time to listen to them. I never like to share personal things on my business page but this man deserves a hell of a lot of recognition. He was incredible, his life was incredible, everything about him and anything connected to him was and is incredible. I’m in complete awe of him and I forever will be.
I created this set for everyone who loved him to enjoy at his funeral, his final celebration of life. It was tough, I’ve never rolled fondant with a wet face like this before. The tears rolling down my cheeks, for what was meant to be such a simple set and should normally take me under an hour took me half a day. It was both the most challenging and rewarding set I’ve ever had cross my work bench. What a pleasure to be able to honour my grandad in my business like this, someone who was always interested in everything I did and always asked to see photos of my work, you’re now in those photos grandad!
A massive thank you to everyone who sent love during this time, patiently waited for their responses to my messages. This is luckily unfamiliar territory for me and I’ve chosen to navigate it slowly. You have absolutely made this time just a tiny bit softer for me and I’m grateful for that!
Cheers to you grandad… If love could have saved you, You would have lived forever! 🕊️🤍
