I really like the softer colours on this project from this week’s Online Class to Go. The Hydrangea Hue and Fresh Freesia work beautifully together without any one colour taking over.
The large layered ovals gave an easy starting point for the design, then I added the floral image and sentiment across the centre. A little ribbon and a few embellishments were enough to finish it off.
It’s a straightforward card to recreate and one that could easily be changed for another occasion just by swapping the sentiment and colours.

Although there are a few layers in this first card from this week’s Online Class to Go, it’s a straightforward layout that is easy to put together, and I really like how the darker background helps to make the Gorgeous Grape and Fresh Freesia flowers pop.
I kept the sentiment area as the main focal point, using the Phrases & Frames die cut frames to add a textured frame around the sentiment, then added just a few flowers and leaves around it to tie everything back to the patterned paper. The Fresh Freesia Satin ribbon helps break up the darker colours too.

This week’s final card was a good excuse to use up some smaller pieces of Designer Series Paper, as well as combining paper from different packs.
I kept the Crumb Cake striped paper as the main background, then added a narrow strip of the Floral Charm design, matted on Blackberry Bliss cardstock, through the centre. It gives the card plenty of colour without the floral pattern taking over the whole design.

This is another project from my Online Class to Go, and it’s also a handy layout for using some of those smaller pieces of DSP we all seem to accumulate. You can watch the replay of my Live video to see how this, and the other two cards from this week’s class, were put together.
