Hey hey! I’m Mel – the mat-making mastermind behind BK Creations and Wagga local.

Three years ago, I took over from my big sister (along with her craft stash and questionable glitter choices) and turned this little biz into a doormat dream factory. I’m married to my forever love, have two beautiful kids who think every surface is a canvas, and a dog named Daisy who’s basically the CEO – she barks orders and demands snacks.

I’ve been crafting since I could hold scissors without causing a family emergency – from pom-poms to paint splatters, I’ve tried it all. These days, I specialise in turning boring old door mats into hilarious, heartfelt, and sometimes slightly cheeky welcome signs. If you don’t see what you’re after, just send me a message – I love custom orders and weird ideas. The weirder, the better.
