Well it’s been a hot month or two since we last posted.. life took some twists and turns for a bit there, but we are back! We’ve done so so much work on our website now, loads of products listed.. newest addition is Mrs Markets hundreds of skeins of yarn including cotton for the first time.. and as all creators should… Mrs Market is testing out the 4ply cotton she dyed last week… loving the busy chaotic colours.. but if plainer is more your thing we have those options too.
We’ve also got loads of Fiddlesticks, Crypto, Sierra Peppin and other brands and types of yarn.

Have you checked out our website? Please do!

EDIT As requested.. our website is www.themarketswanniassa.com

Hello strangers! Thought it was time for an update for you all. This is Mrs Markets’ view today, a lovely change from being in bed for over a week. At the risk of over sharing.. (if you’ve ever had a conversation with me you know that’s a given) I had a hysterectomy last week, so am on enforced bed (and couch) rest for the next 5 weeks. Today is the first day I’ve felt like knitting, so that’s a massive improvement!

BUT what you really need to know is that our online store is up and running, the yarn section in particular is ready to rock! We offer free home delivery to local Canberra area too! One of the Market family will personally deliver the goods right to your door!

There’s still so much more to add (earrings, homewares, foods etc) but it’s a start. Great news, we haven’t increased our Fiddlesticks prices yet, and won’t until next week, so get in this week to save!

Big love to you all, we still miss seeing all your happy shiny faces! ❤️❤️

There’s been radio silence on here the past couple weeks… and this is why! 120 boxes of the best yarn and Australian made products just sitting around waiting for us to count them and sort them!
Good news is we have been busy busy getting our ducks in a row and we estimate we will be relaunching our website next week! WHOOT!
Pretty exciting stuff actually! And just for a teaser, we received our first delivery of yarn (including some new products!) today, sooo.. not long now!

Big love to you all.. bear with us just another couple days and we will be busting to fill orders and deliver your goodies to you!

Calling all Canberrans! Have you been to yet? Mrs Market has! Oops! Australia really is spoiled for choice.. so much yumminess in one place! It’s on again tomorrow at , highly recommend! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

In other news we are still working at getting the website all pretty, and it may come as no surprise to most that it’s going to take a little longer than first thought. We will slowly start adding products back on in the coming weeks, with an aim to be Business As Usual (our new online version) from 1 April… no joke 😜

Now quick, get to the Yarn Show!

We’ve got a different kind of post today!
While we are resting and recharging, Mini Market Matilda is busy doing great things! Matilda asked if we could share her fundraising link on The Markets accounts with the intention of reaching as many people as possible, and raising as much as she can for
Seriously, how could we not?! Pretty chuffed with her community mindedness too, so hoping you all get behind her, even a dollar each would make a massive difference, and encourage a lifelong commitment to supporting community for Matilda!

To celebrate the end of this chapter please enjoy the Von Markets Family dancing our way into our next adventures!

We’ve so much love and care for our community, we’ve absolutely enjoyed watching relationships grow, families being made and babies growing right in front of our eyes.

We’ve had the privilege of sharing your lives with us, the highlights, lowlights, achievements and challenges, tears, smiles, hugs and laughs during our nine years.

The friendships we’ve made with so many of you are what fills our cup, and we will value them always.

Thankyou for sharing this crazy ride with us, we are all so grateful!
We hope to see you again on our next chapter, online ordering with free local delivery.. in April.. for now we rest, reset and play with our puppies!Xx
Big Enormous (gigantic in fact) love

When we started our small biz journey 9 whole years ago we had SO many people help.. we especially remember a few businesses closing their doors at the time, and we sourced loads of our shop fittings from these places. So when Brooke and Dan turned up at our shop last week we were soooo happy to be able to pay it forward.. Among other things, their new fittout for their shop will include our shelving! How cool is that?! If you’re in Gungahlin be sure to check out their new digs when they’re set up!

Well will be reopening online in April 2026
