I am not a white flower girly.

I love colour. Always have. Give me the coral and the rust and the burgundy and the lilac.

Give me something that makes you stop mid-scroll. White flowers have never really been my thing.

And then I walked into the coolroom this morning.

I hadn't even seen the delivery come in.

The girls had unloaded everything while I was doing other things. I just turned the corner into the studio and stopped.

Wax flower. Gum. King protea.

White natives.

I don't know how to explain it except to say β€” no words. Like, fully gone.

Standing there in the middle of the studio just staring at them.

There is something about white natives that is completely different to any other white flower.

It's not bridal. It's not safe. It's not boring. It's wild and textural and a little bit dramatic and honestly kind of unhinged in the best possible way.

Big native season has arrived. And I am fully, completely, here for it.

Friday's posy is something special.

Are you a colour girly or a white flower girly? I need to know where everyone stands on this.

With love,
Brooke β€” a reformed white flower sceptic, apparently πŸ˜‚πŸŒΈ

I didn't go to the market this morning.

For context β€” I go every single week. 2am alarm. Out the door by 2:30. At the Sydney Flower Markets by 4am.

Every Monday. Without fail.

Not today.

Honestly? I'm still recovering from Mother's Day. I don't think people realise how exhausting that week actually is. I'm not sure I even realised until this week when my body just said β€” no. Not today. Sleep.

So last night I texted our growers instead. Now. These growers are sooooo busy. Like, genuinely flat out β€” loading their trucks to get into the market.

And yet. Without hesitation, they were sending me photos. Showing me what they had. Knowing me well enough to not even try to send me anything average.

Not that any flower is ugly. But. Some are uglier than others. Don't get me started.

Here's the thing about picking flowers from photos though β€” it is genuinely hard. Like, a grower says "mauve" and I'm immediately suspicious.

Are we talking warm mauve? Cool mauve? Because I will not β€” not for a million dollars β€” mix warm and cool mauve tones in the same posy. No sir. No way.

But after a few photos back and forth we landed on the most glorious mix. Cotton berry. Thryptomene. Double tulips. Hyacinth. Rose. Gum. Banksia. Honestly it's lovely.

And then my phone rang. Seven missed calls from our grower. Seven.

I must have been completely dead to the world.

No roses. Now β€” our growers know. Under absolutely no circumstances do we substitute with imported flowers.

So seven missed calls at whatever hour of the night because they were trying to reach me before making a call I would not have been happy about.

But here we are. Today's posy has an imported rose. We are not perfect. No business is. But we say we use Australian grown flowers β€” and on the rare occasion that something changes, we'll always tell you.

It's on the posy page on the website today. Simple as that.

And honestly? The posy is still beautiful. The growers still went above and beyond at midnight to try to reach me. And The Posy Post has been going for eleven years because of people like them.

I am so bloody lucky.

With love, Brooke β€” well rested, slightly guilty about the rose, incredibly grateful

So, it's Friday afternoon, just gone.

Deliveries are done. Tim checked the emails and literally said out loud β€” F yes.

No queries to double check. Absolutely nothing. A bloody Friday win.

Poured the glass of wine. Sat on the lounge. Kylie Minogue on. If you haven't watched her on Netflix β€” what an icon.

And then an email popped up. From a lady named Cassandra. "I was lucky enough to receive a beautiful bouquet.

However, after accepting the delivery and reading the card, I believe it was delivered to me by mistake. My name is Cassandra and I have just had a baby β€” what a coincidence β€” but all the details on the card were wrong. I've attached part of the card so you can hopefully deliver to the correct Cassandra."

I'm sorry. What.

Okay so here's what happened.

The delivery address was 5 Banksia Way Adamstown. Tim himself did this delivery. He knocked on the door, a guy answered β€” wrong address. The guy said Cassandra lived next door.

So Tim popped next door, knocked on the door, and of course β€” Cassandra answered.

Newborn baby. Flowers. Congratulations. Done. Tim left.

Except.

The flowers weren't for THAT Cassandra. They were for a DIFFERENT Cassandra. Who also lives in Adamstown. Who also just had a baby.

I cannot.

So I replied asking if she had any idea who had sent them. She did not. BUT. She had put on her FBI hat that evening and Facebook had informed her that the other Cassandra works at the business mentioned on the card.

I'm sorry β€” the FBI hat?! The detective work on this woman! I was absolutely losing it.

"Great detective work" I replied. Because honestly what else do you even say. I told her to just enjoy the flowers and her beautiful new baby and enjoy every second of that newborn bubble β€” and that I would sort everything out with the sender.

I told her this was without question the most wildly coincidental thing that has ever happened in the entire history of The Posy Post.

And I told her it would one hundred percent be making content. So here we are.

This job. I swear.

Have you ever had something so wildly coincidental happen that you genuinely couldn't believe it? I need to hear these.
