Know a little one with a birthday coming up?
Our kids area has had a refresh and new Fleur Harris arrivals have just landed. They are honestly some of the prettiest things we have had in store. Particularly if you ever loved the Magic Faraway Tree by Enid Blyton.
Botanical prints, soft fabrics, beautiful details.

Pepe the frog is dressed for exactly this weather. Our little raincoat crew is back in the stock.

The nursery is looking spectacular in the wet, the gift shop is full of new arrivals, and the coffee is hot. We even have umbrellas if you need one.

Worth the drive, whatever the weather. Warrandyte.

A flower that stops you in your tracks.

Cymbidium season is upon us! Our stunning Cymbids just arrived today, full of buds and ready to put on a floral display in your home.

Good news for us Melbourne gardeners, Cymbidiums love our cool nights, and that drop in temperature is exactly what encourages those long-lasting blooms.

Lobsters on a jumper. Of course. Our team fell for the playful pieces this autumn.

Holiday's new season knits will add a pop of colour to your winter wardrobe. Kate and Julie both let me stick a camera in their face so I could show off their new purchases (thank you 🤣)

New winter fashion from some of our favourite brands has just landed in store. Worth a visit to Warrandyte to see the new arrivals in person.

See you soon!

Not all deciduous trees look dull during winter. These three maples are the kinds of trees you plant to enjoy all year, especially in winter, and that’s thanks to their coloured bark.

A particularly striking variety is Senkaki, whose bark turns a vivid coral red once the leaves have fallen.
Bihou is equally striking with this gold to crimson bark that catches the light on a frosty morning. And Orange Dream, known for its fiery autumn colour, shows off its amber/gold bark during winter.

All three are in store now at Warran Glen in Warrandyte. If you’ve been looking for a tree to add colour to the garden in winter, we highly recommend these varieties. The Bihou in particular grows well in pots, making it a great option for smaller gardens or balconies.

It's definitely been gumboot weather these last couple of weeks in Melbourne.

The arrival of Hunter on our shelves feels like good timing, then. We've started stocking a few styles: the Unisex Downpour Chelsea boots on their chunky commando sole, and the Women's Play clogs, made for slipping on and nipping out to the garden.

Pop in and have a look next time you're out our way. They're as at home on the back step as they are out in the garden.

PLANT PROFILE | Acer palmatum ‘Mikawa Yatsubusa’

AKA Japanese Maple Mikawa Yatsubusa.

This is one of those plants that stops you in your tracks. It definitely did for us.

The tightly tufted foliage catches your eye and will earn its place in any home garden as a feature plant.

Its compact size makes this Acer versatile enough to grow in a variety of locations. That same tight habit is also why it’s so highly prized for bonsai.

Happy in light shade or full sun, as long as the soil drains well and it’s watered through the hot months.

Have you grown one? We’d love to see how it’s colouring up in your garden this autumn. Tag us .

We love maples. So much so, we offer a large variety of them in our Warrandyte Nursery.
