Geoff Rollinson might describe his journey as starting in the country, being tarred with the city brush then following a career path back to the bush 37 years ago.

A founding member of the Warrnambool Community Garden, he was at the very first meeting in 2005 and has since contributed in almost every committee role over the decades.

Through all of that, and his work as a Senior Landcare Facilitator with the Warrnambool Coastcare Landcare Network, we think it's a fair shout that Geoff might have a tale or two to tell.

Come listen, connect, sup and sip with us as we explore stories from the garden at Mozart Hall on Tuesday 7th July.

Our brilliant panellists will be buttressed by creative performance, with soup and mulled wine made freshly by garden volunteers.

A little shout out to all the nursery folk, landscapers, gardeners and lawn mowing crews around the state this week👏🌧️

The gardens are absolutely loving this rain. The lawns are greener, the tanks are filling, and every plant seems to be saying, “More please!”

Meanwhile, nursery staff are squelching around in wet boots, and poor Corza is trying to mow lawns between showers while keeping one eye on the sky and the other on the weather app. 😂

We’ve gone through enough wet socks to last a lifetime, jackets that weigh twice as much as they did on Monday, and we’re pretty sure our gumboots now have permanent residency on our feet.

Don’t get us wrong, we’re grateful for every drop. The gardens certainly are! 🌱💚☔

But if Mother Nature is taking requests, could we please have just a tiny one hour break tomorrow morning? We’ve got a truckload of beautiful new stock arriving and we’d love to unload it without looking like drowned rats. 🤣🌧️🚛🌿

❄️🌿 It’s the first day of winter! 🌿❄️

The beanies are out, the mornings are crisp, and gardeners everywhere are suddenly convinced they need “just a few more plants.”

Don’t let the cooler weather fool you, winter is still a great time to plant, giving trees, shrubs and perennials plenty of time to settle in before spring steals the show.

So tell us, what’s your garden personality?

🌸 Cottage – a little bit romantic, a little bit wild, and definitely the person who came in for one plant and left with ten.

🦜 Native – the first question is always, “Will this attract birds?” Loves blooms, wildlife and plants tough enough to handle whatever Mother Nature throws at them.

🌳 Formal – tidy lines, clipped hedges, a place for everything and quietly notices when the plant labels aren’t straight.
