Friday Finds 🌿

Colour inspiration is everywhere. In shells, stone, timber, shadow and sky.

When I create palettes for clients, I look to nature first. Natural tones layer effortlessly, creating homes that feel calm, balanced and lived in rather than overworked.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed choosing paint colours or finishes, start outside. Notice the greens, blues and neutrals you’re naturally drawn to. That’s often the foundation of a cohesive interior.
Interior design and colour consultation grounded in real materials and real life.

The Year of the Fire Horse is all about momentum and movement.
But when life speeds up, your home shouldn’t.
Grounded materials. Natural textures. Clear flow through your space.
Timber, stone, linen. Less glare. More calm.
We’re seeing more interiors with natural materials like timber especially in out kitchens.
Commercial interiors are leaning more nature inspired because they genuinely support our mental health and wellbeing.
Interior design isn’t just aesthetic. It shapes how you feel every day.
If your home feels visually busy or unsettled, it can be refined.
Holistic interior design. Grounded spaces. Intentional living.

I’ve had many conversations lately where people are surprised to still see engineered stone available.

Engineered stone hasn’t vanished, but from 1 July 2024 it became illegal in Australia to manufacture, supply or install products containing crystalline silica due to rising silicosis cases.

Existing benchtops don’t need to be removed. The risk comes from uncontrolled cutting and grinding.

Many suppliers now offer compliant low silica alternatives.

If you’re renovating, always view the full slab. A small sample never tells the full story.

Tuesday took me to Tenterfield to meet new clients, and I walked the town first.

Rich oxblood bricks. Solid, grounded shopfronts with history in every tile.

Then the landscape softens it. A slow creek, stone, dense green, heavy sky.

Town and nature in quiet balance.

Homes here should draw from that, not fight it. When design responds to place, it simply feels right.

Materials on the bench.
Because finishes don’t make sense in isolation.
Side by side is where the right decision shows up.
