I thought I was really lucky, I posted my Peter Rabbit a little bit ago and I received a comment and messages that indicated people were interested.

I put in the effort to organise a sale of my little guy and genuinely thought he'd sold, even updated my posts to indicate as much. I was even going to make an extra one since I was messaging two people at the same time and I felt like I had the spoons to get an extra one done today. I felt this way because I was excited and happy, I thought things were looking up a little bit. I was so happy that people liked my little guy enough to want one.

I even had someone else message who was happy to wait for me to make one when I'd recovered a little bit.

Well... All 3 of them ended up being scammers.

I've been out of the social media game for a while because of my health. I guess the mix of fatigue, excitement, and being out of practice left me a bit more vulnerable today.

With surgery coming up there's a lot of added expenses I need to deal with and those of you who know me know that I'm unable to work. Since I'm going to be temporarily closing my Etsy during recovery, this was my last opportunity to make a bit of extra money.

Don't worry, I didn't fall for the scams, I clued in pretty quickly once things went a bit awry but I'm just still a bit upset. I know scammers are common and I've definitely had people try this sort of thing before on Instagram but it just stung a bit more today.

Anyway, Peter Rabbit is still available if anyone is actually interested, in the meantime I'm going to go curl up with my cats and mope for a bit.

Now for some rambling about this amazing photoshoot!

You might remember Sarah ( on Instagram) as the recipient of my most recent cross stitch project. She has been my best friend/chosen family for 21 years and has been subjected to many a photo shoot through the years 😂 I'm lucky to have such a beautiful person in my life (inside and out), especially one so gosh dang photogenic 😍

Sarah did such an amazing job modelling these pieces for me, it was nearly impossible to just choose only a handful of photos to share 🥹 I limited myself to a max of 2 photos of each product because otherwise I'd be sharing every photo...all 124 of them 😂
I liked these pieces beforehand but Sarah made me love them by modelling them so beautifully 💖✨

Then there's Penny 🥹 Penny is a 12 year old Maltese Shih Tzu that is the puppy counter part to my 12 year old Burmese kitty, Lily. I love Penny so much and every time I get to see her it's exciting to be reminded that she loves me too. We had some very excitable cuddles before and after the photoshoot 🥰

After seeing how these quick snaps of Penny turned out I knew I needed to share them as well. She's too precious to not be shared with the world 😍

I'm very grateful to have such a lovely model and very excited to have such beautiful photos of my crocheted pieces 🧶

If you're interested in the pattern for the headscarves, the pattern will hopefully be available by the beginning of next month. It's nearly ready but because it will be my first pattern that I'm selling, I want to ensure I get it just right.

If you love the headscarf style but I've not made the colour combo you're after, suggest the colours in the comment section and you might see it pop up in the future 👀

Showing off my latest finished cross stitch piece that was gifted to my best friend/sister for her birthday 💙 It was SUPPOSED to be for last year's birthday but my crochet hyperfixation took over 😬

I'm grateful that Sarah loves me enough to forgive me for taking forever to get this to her 😂

I am very proud of it but that light blue took me so long! It is reminiscent of The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry which is one of Sarah's favourite books.

You heard that right! My lil store is turning one year old on the 26th of September and I'm celebrating with a big sale! I'm also personally having a birthday on the 29th as well! So extra excitement all around, although I'm turning 29 and the rapid approach of 30 is making me quiver just a bit 😂

I can't believe it's already been a whole year since I opened my store! This year has been one of the hardest of my life, from my Cancer coming back, to struggling through unemployment, it's just been really hard. But having my store to focus on has brought me a spark of joy.

I'm not the best business owner by any means, I struggle with maintaining an online presence, I'm bad at making sure all of my creations are uploaded, and I'm terribly organised. But I have tried my best this year to share my creations with all of you and I put myself into every order.

The feedback I've received from my customers has shown me that the effort I put into making every order special is worth it. I appreciate every single review I've received and every interaction I've had with a customer. You're all so wonderful and I mean every thank you card I write.

Now for plans for the future. Oh boy do I have many, and hopefully my health permits me the spoons 🥄🥄🥄 to do them. I have crocheted earrings on the way, 3 crochet patterns coming in the next few months, cross stitch patterns, and so many cute plushies. Potentially even some tutorials!

Looking forward to another year! (Even if another year means I'll be 30! 😬)

It would seem I am TERRIBLE at remembering to post my finished pieces! These pictures are from mid July 😂

Bulbasaur was finished as part of a commission for the amazing and is one of my favourite pieces to date. I couldn't resist putting him in a line up with my own buddies. Yes, yes, I know they're not the same generation but don't they just look cute together?

I have a feeling I'll be making many more Pokemon in my future 😍

TEMPORARY CLOSURE ANNOUNCEMENT:

Hi all,

My partner and I have been lucky enough to get approved for a new rental and we will be starting our move tomorrow morning!

This change is due to a number of reasons, partly financial, partly health related, and our new property ticks all of our boxes.

Not only is our rent going to be $120 cheaper per week, but the property is single level, with no carpets, and is only 5 minutes away from my doctor! That may not be exciting for a lot of people but is very exciting for me.

As many of you know, I've been dealing with my second round of Uterine Cancer since late last year and I also have a number of other chronic health and pain conditions. This has made living in a property with stairs quite difficult. A lot of the time I end up sleeping on the couch because I'm just in too much pain to make it up the stairs to go to bed. I have to plan all of my days around the stairs, being strategic about what I bring with me so that I don't have to make a double trip, and also making sure that I don't use the stairs on a bad day when I'm home alone.

So, as you can imagine, moving to a single level house is going to make my life so much easier.

Our new home also has an amazing studio space that attaches to the garage, which I'll be using to do more resin art and needle minder making. My partner will also be using this space to make more resin charcuterie boards and tables. Along with this space I will have an office space for all of my usual business operations, and more yarn than I know what to do with!

This is going to be an exciting change and I'm looking forward to all of the good things that are going to come from it.

That said I will need to close my store for a short period of time, as I will have to pack up all of my needle minders and packing materials for the move. I will be doing this in such a way to minimise the closure as much as possible.

I am currently at 178 orders since having opened my store September 26th 2022 and my goal is to reach 200 sales by my one year anniversary. So trust me, I'll be keeping the closure as small as possible 😂

If you need something from my store soon then definitely get your order in ASAP.
The plan is to close on the 16th of August (next Wednesday) and reopen the following Wednesday (23rd of August).
If I am ready to reopen before the 23rd I will make an announcement and keep you all up to date.

I am looking forward to decorating my new office and making it both pretty and functional. I can't wait to reorganise all of my yarn 😂

I will try to post as many updates as possible. If you don't already follow me on TikTok, I recommend checking me out over there as I'm a bit more active there. My goal going forth will be to be more active on all of my socials but if you're bored and want to watch me be a bit of a weirdo then TikTok is the place to be 😂
