A heritage renovation only works when what is preserved and what is added are handled by people who understand both equally well.

On this Mosman project, that meant keeping the original leadlight windows and stone fireplaces intact while introducing steel-framed bifold doors and Calacatta stone benchtops that feel entirely at home beside them. None of that happens without architects and builders who are genuinely aligned with the design intent from the first meeting, not just following a plan handed to them. Every STUDIO BELLE project follows the same three steps, and it is worth explaining why.

Listening comes first, properly, to how a family actually lives day to day, not just to a Pinterest board.

Rendering comes next, every room, before a single trade is booked, so a client can see and approve a home before it is real rather than discovering it on site.

Delivery is the result of the first two steps being done properly, which is how the studio holds a budget and a timeline without surprises along the way.

There is a reason STUDIO BELLE describes itself as a full-service studio rather than an interior design studio.

From the very first conversation about how a family actually lives, through the render that lets you see the home before a wall moves, through to the trades on site and the final styling day, it is one team the whole way. Nothing is handed off between phases, and nothing gets lost in translation between the person who designed your kitchen and the person who built it.

A staircase is a design decision you can’t easily change once it’s built.

At Mosman 04, we presented our clients with two distinct stair designs, rendered in full detail, so they could see how each would actually feel to move through before committing to either. The choice came down to weighing proportion and light, not guessing from a drawing.

It’s a small example of a larger principle: the clearer the picture, the more confident the decision.
