A gorgeous hyper-realism tutorial from Paco Martín Domínguez. I am reasonably happy with my realism skills but I love hyper-realism and have been itching to give it a try. I am going to need a lot more practice. Luckily there is a whole book full of Paco's tutorials!

You would think with all the animal portraits and fur I have drawn that human hair would not be a problem but no. As with everything in life, we humans like to be difficult.

So Frustrating, I hadn't lifted a pencil in weeks. I had completely lost motivation. I have so many amazing drawings and some incredible hyper realism tutorials by Paco Martín Domínguez to do. (You should check out his work, it's like looking at a photo. Phenomenal!) So to get my mojo back I am going back to basics. Starting with a Bonny Snowdon Ignite eye study.

It's definitely in its 'ugly' stage.

I am not a lover of backgrounds. They look amazing but I find them so time consuming and tricky. Hopefully I smash that out so I can get started on my slithery friend.
