Queen Vic Dahlias Queen Vic Dahlias - 8 new Australian dahlia cultivars to grow in your garden. Available now for the first time in 2026

Fresh cut flowers are offered seasonally from early Spring to mid Autumn with both bouquets and straight bunches made using ingredients fresh from the field to order. Bouquets need to be ordered in advance via our website - by 5pm before the day required and are available for pickup only from the farm gate stall. Please note our farm is a private residence and is not open to the public for beyond our farm gate stall. We kindly ask that you do not visit the farm without a pre-arranged appointment for farm gate pickup / outside of our weekend farm stall hours. As you can imagine, it can be startling to find people wandering around our backyard and home uninvited.

My Queens šŸ‘‹

I am officially on a break! It's been absolutely hectic posting out all your orders over the past 6 weeks, and I know a few of you are absolute super stars for waiting on Queen Vic Amore until I return from overseas. I wish I could have gotten her to you all at the same time as all the others, but she is a stubborn diva and sometimes it's best not to push them!

Thank you so much for all your orders, your belief in my new QV cultivars, and your support of Queen Vic Dahlias.

I'm so looking forward to seeing Queen Vic growing in your gardens.

Here's a taster of what is to come next year and the years that follow. The last seedling is thankfully a lucky survivor of the flooding I had in my field this year ā¤ Not very many made it, so hopefully I will see shoots on a few more when I return from my travels šŸ¤ž I'll try to keep the travel spam in my stories šŸ˜‚

I planted some of my dahlias today.

I have never planted this early and it feels risky, but I mostly dug up a few clumps and then replanted those in my garden so šŸ¤ž

Queen Vic Victoria made some absolute monster tubers!
The clump was heavier than an empty barbell (20kg) šŸ˜‚

Swipe for a pic šŸ‘‰

Last night I sent out an email to those of you still waiting on orders, there's around 180 of you!

All of you have QV Amore and or QV Heartbreaker in your orders, and these two cultivars are really hard to spot eyes on. This is mostly due to many of the tubers I am sending out from these two being grown from cuttings and then rather poorly planted by me - resulting in the wackiest tubers I've ever grown.

Anyhow, I want to share some images that will hopefully help you when your orders arrive, because I really want to ship as much as I can prior to going overseas for a month.

Don't they look great together? So cute

QV Heartbreaker is faster to wake than QV Amore so hopefully I'll get all of this cultivar shipped.

Here I'm using tumeric to paint directly on the eye to mark them. Even if you can't see them, I can see them. I know my tubers inside out.

That tiny white dot is QV Amore starting to grow

You'd never think this tuber was viable if its eye hadn't started bulging. It's right on a cut edge and it looks like it would never grow, until it does!

This one is actually one where the eyes are easier to see. Seriously, this one is practically toddler proof compared to the others.

Hopefully this helps people feel more confident in the product I'll be sending out in the next week. I'll do my best to post to everyone, but if I can't I will ship as much of your order as I can, and cover the excess shipping out of my own pocket for anything outstanding when I get back from overseas.

Queen Vic Amore is a diva that likes her beauty sleep!

Of about 300? 400? tubers currently in storage I was able to find a measly 14 tubers ready to send in this weeks orders šŸ™„

I think she perhaps isn't fooled by "sprinter".

Anyhow, I've just mass emailed a shipping update to outstanding orders - so please make sure you read it ā¤

Two 2026 Releases from Vic Pemberton of Queen Vic Dahlias (formerly Woodend Flower Farm) that will be available in our tuber sale.

1. QV Petal Power

A lovely pastel purple/pink and sometimes leaning white flower with the fluffiest petals around. Slightly split and splayed tips alongside petaloids make this one really special. Can be prone to bobble head but doesn’t often pop off. Still useable in bouquets. A must grow for novelty and wow factor. It stopped people in their tracks at MIFGS 2025 & 2026

2. QV Life on Mars
A versatile, modern red. With a sheer lavender sheen this dahlia can lean into warm tones or cool tones depending on what you pair it with. Thick petals that stand up to heat and bouquet work well. A really fun dahlia to grow - the pictures truly don’t do it justice. Perfect for the red toned weddings that have been popular recently, and amazing with pink for a fun Valentine’s bouquet spin.

Today after packing and posting orders, I knocked off work for the week - you heard me I'm giving myself a few days off! I went to my fave local bar, ordered myself a Dirty Martini and sat in the late afternoon sunshine and it was so relaxing šŸ™Œ

So the reason I'm taking a few days off is due to all remaining orders containing tubers that don't look like they're going to grow (even though i am 100% certain they will). So I've put a few hundred tubers in the greenhouse in hope they'll be looking awake next week.

So - extra long weekend for me! Do you think I should do any work in the garden? (I don't 🤣)

I thought it would be pertinent of me to provide a little slideshow, a small quick lesson in Dahlia tubers to ease your anxiety as I start to send out your orders in the post.

I too have in the past, felt that pang of fear when opening a parcel of much anticipated Dahlia tubers and have not been able to spot an eye. I have felt the blind panic (pun intended) and have knee je**ed out emails and stress. I get it! And I've got you. I have complete faith that all tubers I am posting have eyes and will grow. If I can't see it, I don't post it, cool?

If you're super stressed by all means email me an in focus hi res image of your tubers from every angle - and I'll get back to you when I can ā˜ŗļø
