Houdini's Cucina in Diggers Rest has completed the rebuild of its function space. and it's a sharp result. Modern, functional, and a great venue for locals and visitors to experience what the Diggers Rest cucina does well.

Evolve Windows was proud to supply and install the window and door package throughout the new building. The glazed internal partitions give the space flexibility for different event formats, while the full-length glazing along the verandah keeps the building open and connected to the street.

A new build in the Macedon Ranges — and the glazing brief was straightforward: maximise the connection to the landscape without compromising thermal performance in a climate that demands it.

The aluminium sliding door and window package supplied and installed by Evolve Windows uses double glazed units throughout. The custom triangular fixed panels follow the pitch of the gable roofline, a configuration that required precise frame fabrication to suit the geometry of the build. Large format sliding doors open the living and dining areas directly to the surrounding farmland, and based on the evidence in these shots, the Highland cattle are equally invested in the outlook.

In March, Evolve Windows director Scott Vernon attended Fensterbau Frontale in Nuremberg, Germany - the window, door and facade industry's largest international trade event. The 2026 edition drew around 75,000 visitors from 117 countries and more than 1,000 exhibitors across 47 countries, covering the full spectrum of glazing technology, hardware innovation, profile systems and production.

Scott attended as part of a delegation organised by the Australian Glass and Window Association AGWA - Australian Glass and Window Association, alongside visits to window manufacturing and hardware factories across Germany.
