Six years ago, Kane and I took a leap of faith and started Botanic Poetry from the ground up with little more than an outside tap, no toilets, plenty of determination and a dream. From those humble beginnings came more than we could ever have imagined—winning the floral contracts for EOS by SkyCity, Sofitel Adelaide and The Playford Hotel, transforming our little studio, purchasing the building we’d poured our hearts into, and creating my bucket-list dream, The Flower Room. Through COVID we delivered flowers in our pyjamas, left surprise buckets of blooms outside the studio just to make people smile, and somewhere along the way our customers became lifelong friends. Our journey wouldn’t have been the same without Scooby and Anikan, and now our little superstar, Miss Flower Pup, who has stolen so many hearts.
As life changes, so do dreams. With Austin beginning his own adventure in Dubai and our hearts being drawn to Normanville, we’re excited to build our forever home and embrace a slower pace of life. Today, with very full hearts, it’s time to hand Botanic Poetry to the wonderful Deb and Grant and their beautiful family. This has been Deb’s lifelong dream, and I couldn’t think of anyone more deserving. I’ll be staying on to help guide her through the transition, our incredible team will remain, and Flower and I won’t be disappearing completely. Kane will continue pursuing his passion as a sommelier, while together we’ll also begin a new chapter with Fleurieu Blooms. To every customer who trusted us with your weddings, celebrations, heartbreaks and life’s precious moments—thank you. You didn’t just support our little business; you became part of our family, and we’ll be forever grateful. This isn’t goodbye… it’s simply the beginning of another beautiful chapter.
