What it means to be an SMP artist 🤍
After a year of training & practicing under supervision, an artist may be ready to perform art on people's heads. The first thing that people see! 👀
A bad SMP job isn't easy to hide and is not very nice for the client to have removed. I have seen some shockers in my time and I wouldn't like to be known as someone who does bad work, so I practice naturalism, only!
An SMP artist is someone who works out of passion, not to create money alone.
We are either restoring someone's confidence or completely taking it away.
It may look easy when done by the professionals but there is so much to learn in the way of skin conditions, skin texture, colour theory, mapping, needle depth, hand control.
We have to literally train our hands to be steady & precise. If we're having a bad day and feeling shaky & nervous, we can't perform well as each individual pinpoint must be accurate.
We must also undergo a medical course to understand bloodborn disease & infection control.
Once we have ascertained all of this, we can then apply to the National Health Department and acquire all the necessary legal rights to perform the procedure.
We cannot operate in just any facility, it must be approved by council and fully insured.
Our technique must be on point and our hygiene even better.
Inspections are performed by council and are monitored for the safety of the public.
Always be careful who you work with, ask to see a portfolio of work and check all relevant information, now that you have it 🖤
