Tomorrow night my exhibition ‘From the Atelier of Fleur Yorston’- A curated collection of Creative Works: Past and Present opens 5-8pm with live music from 100% Wool.
It’s been over 15 years since I last shared a collection of my own work. Before moving to Yamba, I used to hold 2 solo shows a year across NZ-painting in an off-site studio which quite often my babies napped beside me or played on the floor. Those years shaped so much of who I am as an artist.
Fast forward to 2025 which feels like a powerful
This show is about reclaiming time, rebuilding confidence and stepping back into the creative rhythm I’ve missed.
Next goal: A solo show in an Australian city in 2026

‘From the Atelier of Fleur Yorston’ A curated collection of creative works- Past and Present at
Launching Saturday 13th December 5-8pm.
It incorporates different works, which span different years of my practise in painting, prints and sculpture. While varied in representation they share common threads of influence, technique and inquiry.
‘With layered environments and patterned rhythms, I aim to invite viewers into a contemplative space: one that mirrors the complexity, beauty and the fragility of being human’

Free falling…
Where there is no land insight
This year I have seen the best and worst in people. My close friends and some in my community know the deep, quiet trauma, I have been experiencing over the last 6 months. I only now feel brave enough to put it out there, because I feel to with the decline of my presence on social media and neglect of some of my wonderful brands.
If 2024 has taught me anything it is that I deeply care for people and that I deserve so much more than what I have been through.
This year has seen me experiencing massive adversity, which did leave me numb and void for many months, but finally I see some kind of warm light coming back again, with so much gratitude to my close friends.
While one part of my life closes for the better, I thank the universe for showing me the toxicity of one half of my trauma, who spoke these words below.
‘’I don’t think we are doing anything wrong because it is enriching our lives’’
The other part is left to re-evaluate the last 26 years of my life and what truely or not fulfilled me within it.
I now get to redesign and reset my future, with a fresh set of eyes, even if my heart has been scarred, which I hope over time will heal.
Maybe I didn’t see what may not have been obvious in our life, which in the end has contributed to the derailing and deception but I do know my life can be re-built with time, honestly, trust and mindfulness.
My story isn’t ending here..
It’s a fresh new beginning, where I now know I need to take centre stage, for what’s right for me.
I’m excited for what 2025 is going to manifest, what truely matters to me and with those who deserve my love and light.
