On the workbench today is a newbie to the range.

💚 Australian Wormy Chestnut 💚

These Eucalyptus trees are affected by wildfires, years of drought and attack by insects. Flood and strong winds stunt their growth with each piece showing nature’s signature. Deep red gum veins formed by fire, ambrosia beetle marks, pin holes and squiggly worm marks are all evident.

Because each piece is uniquely marked by nature, it provides a rustic yet modern aesthetic, and is going to make stunning hanging pendants for a lovey local couple!

Would you believe this once was a hanging pendant?

Purchased many years ago from original founders Dan and Jane, this pendant light was bought to us to get changed over to a floor lamp.

Luckily no bracket change was required, and only a floor lamp base was needed.

Today was pressing day! Basically that means the timber veneer is glued and vacuum pressed together with the backing of either a very thin Pine layon or special backing paper. Quick, strong and is pressed together for longevity!

Todays pressed up veneer consisted of: 3xTas Oak pendants for over a kitchen bench, 2 Birdseye Huon Pine table lamps, 1x 400mm Birdseye HP pendant, 1x 500mm Birdseye HP pendant, 2x Blackheart Sassy small Barc wall lights! 💚
