Column Size According to Span

This diagram explains the recommended column size based on the span (distance) between two
columns.

1. For a span of 3000 mm (10 ft), the column size should be 230 mm × 230 mm (square).

2. For a span of 3600 mm (12 ft), the column size should be 230 mm × 360 mm (rectangular).

3. Fora span of 4500 mm (15 ft), the column size should be 230 mm × 450 mm (rectangular).

4. For aspan of 5400 mm (18 ft), the column size should be 230 mm × 540 mm (rectangular).

Note: Increasing span length requires a larger column size to safely transfer loads.

Proper column sizeensures structural stability and prevents failure.

The values provided are general guidelines and
actual sizes may vary depending on structural design, load, and building codes.
