From the Archives: Navigating Market Volatility through Design.

Designing a project is one challenge; navigating the economic realities of construction is another. Our 2021 proposal for a residence and urban farm in Uttara, titled "The Chicken House," serves as a stark reminder of the volatile 2021-22 fiscal year.

Following extensive research into free-range farming to meet the client's unique brief, we delivered a complete design and budget. However, the subsequent global supply chain crises and inflation saw domestic material prices—particularly rods and cement—increase by nearly 40%. These uncontrollable macroeconomic factors unfortunately rendered the original budget unfeasible, stalling the project.

Architecture is deeply tied to economics. While this project wasn't realized physically, it remains a valuable case study in our portfolio of innovative urban concepts.

Prioritize Light & Air: A good interior should never feel suffocating. Maximize natural light and ensure cross-ventilation to keep the space fresh and vibrant.

Form Follows Function: Don't add furniture just to fill a gap. Every piece should serve a purpose and allow for easy movement within the room.

Honest Materials: Use materials that age well. Instead of hiding everything under paint, let the texture of wood, brick, or stone add character to your home.

The Power of Greenery: Indoor plants aren't just for looks, they improve air quality and provide a visual "breath" in a busy urban environment.

Architecture, Interior & Landscape Design: Ar. Reza Noor Muin, MIAB, Ar. Jakowan Salwa MIAB, Ar. Abdul Hamid Tuhin, AMIAB • Structure and MEP Edifice Engineers

Our vision for this project was to create an experience where nature and architecture breathe together. Drawing inspiration from the island’s azure waters, white sands, and lush pandanus groves, we shaped a design that is both eco-conscious and timeless in character.

✨ Key Design Highlights:
Sustainable materials: recycled wood, Durable RCC bases, eco-friendly water-based paint finishes

A tropical palette of blue and white, blending with sea and sky.
Elevated views of the Bay of Bengal, with open beachfront seating. The total circulation experienced is separated from the ground level so that all the critters below can pass underneath freely.

Integration of local landscape – coconut trees, pandanus, and coastal flora.

A seamless balance of comfort, culture, and coastal serenity.

At Jadukata Studios, we believe every resort must not just host guests, but also tell the story of its land and people. With Sun and Sand Twin Beach Resort, we aimed to craft an island sanctuary that celebrates both Bangladesh’s natural beauty and the spirit of sustainable tourism.
