𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐃𝐢𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐡𝐞𝐭 ﷺ 𝐃𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐤 𝐙𝐚𝐦𝐳𝐚𝐦 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠? 🤍

Most of the time, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ preferred to drink while sitting…

a sign of humility and calmness.

But at 𝗭𝗮𝗺𝘇𝗮𝗺…

He ﷺ did something different.

𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑯𝒂𝒅𝒊𝒕𝒉 📖:

𝑁𝑎𝑟𝑟𝑎𝑡𝑒𝑑 𝐼𝑏𝑛 `𝐴𝑏𝑏𝑎𝑠:

I gave Zamzam water to Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) and he drank it while standing. `Asim (a sub-narrator) said that `Ikrima took the oath that on that day the Prophet (ﷺ) had not been standing but riding a camel.

(Sahih al-Bukhari, 1637)

𝐼𝑏𝑛 𝐴𝑏𝑏𝑎𝑠 𝑟𝑒𝑝𝑜𝑟𝑡𝑒𝑑:

I served. (water of) Zamzam to Allah's Messenger (ﷺ), and he drank it while standing.

(Sahih Muslim,2027a)

𝑾𝒉𝒚 𝑫𝒊𝒅 𝑯𝒆 (ﷺ) 𝑫𝒐 𝑻𝒉𝒂𝒕? 🌿

Scholars explain:

☑ To show that both sitting and standing are allowed at Zamzam

☑ To highlight the special honor of this blessed water

☑ Because the area was crowded, making standing practical

𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑩𝒆𝒂𝒖𝒕𝒚 𝒐𝒇 𝒁𝒂𝒎𝒛𝒂𝒎 💧:

This is not ordinary water…

The Prophet ﷺ said:

“The water of Zamzam is for whatever it is drunk for.”

(Sunan Ibn Mājah – authentic 3062)

𝑅𝑒𝑓𝑙𝑒𝑐𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛 💭: A sip of Zamzam… with sincerity… can become:

1️⃣ Healing

2️⃣ Strength

3️⃣ Barakah

𝑅𝑒𝑚𝑖𝑛𝑑𝑒𝑟 🤍: Next time you drink Zamzam… don’t just drink. Make a du’a. Because it might be accepted.
