DON'T STOP USING VPN
It's true that when you use HTTPS, the content (messages, photos, etc.) you send and receive from internet are sent encrypted.
But, it doesn't apply when you search for something. Let's say you visit FB page "A" and go to post "X". As a result, the address will look something like "facebookDOTcom/A/posts/X". Now you've visited "facebookDOTcom"- that your ISP can see.
So, there's an internet hub (BDIX) where all of the BD internet traffic goes through. Listener programs are set there to keep track of such URLs. (This is how caching works)
I'm not saying the govt. is really capable or anything. But they can monitor such URLs and find most visited websites which have high views. And if they have the capability, they can bring such sites down.
Also, if the VPN is not used, such tracking can be done by major ISPs, which can create a demography of their users. They can see which users are visiting such pages mostly.
Call me skeptical, but at this moment, it's better TO USE VPN at all time. There's a reason behind govt's such generosity. Nothing comes free.
