A festivity and a fly-over of American F-35s in the "Cinquantenaire Parc” in
Brussels on 28th June 2026, organized by the US ambassador to Belgium on the occasion of the 250th anniversary of the US, should be banned and prohibited.
The celebration of one’s own Independence Day should be confined to one’s embassy.
We strongly oppose and protest the numerous accusations made by the American President against the European Union, the European institutions and against the city of Brussels. We in no way accept the accusations, criticism, and interference of the American ambassador with regard to our country and our institutions.
The park and monuments of the "Cinquantenaire" is a place of enormous historical and symbolic meaning to our country. It is the place where the fiftieth, the seventy-fifth, and the hundredth anniversaries of our nation were celebrated. This is certainly not the place where a foreign power should impose its own national festivities abroad.
