Serax Serax is a Belgian design brand, creating contemporary homeware with international designers. This quickly proved to be right on target.

More than 20 years ago, Axel and Serge Van den Bossche decided to establish the Serax interior decoration brand. Very quickly, the initial collection of flowerpots expanded into an extensive collection of different decorative accessories for the interior. With its characteristic and unique style, Serax responds to the needs of florists and interior decor retailers who are looking for creative obje

cts to use in the interior. Over the years, the company developed a valuable reputation in its sector. Serax is well-known for its affordable design products, and for its excellent customer service.

A dream table, set in Japan.

"We started from our own Japanese home, where we spend half the year," says Ringo Gomez. "It's an old house that once belonged to the grandmother of a friend. Completely back to basics, but its beauty more than makes up for that.”

It sits in Matsushima, a small town in northern Japan, overlooking a bay dotted with 260 tiny islands — some no larger than rocks floating on the water. The haiku poet Matsuo Bashō was said to have been left speechless by its beauty.

A garden, two tatami rooms, and an engawa: the corridor-like space of wooden floors and paper sliding doors that sits between the tatami rooms and the outdoors.

Shirley grew up with her single mother in Santiago de Borja, a small village along a tributary of the Amazon River. Later, she lived in the Peruvian capital, Lima. The atmosphere of ancient South American cultures, full of color and life, but also of stillness and melancholy, resonates throughout her work.

A small, warm space in Ghent, filled with everything she gathers on her travels: African masks, tiles from Morocco, ceramics from Japan, curiosities from the flea markets of Paris. Plants that hold the memory of the Amazon. Objects that echo the figures in her paintings.
