The past few years, I’ve found myself increasingly drawn to textiles. The more I learn about them, the more I appreciate the craftsmanship behind each piece, and especially the human hands that bring it to life. For me, that human touch will ALWAYS be irreplaceable.

There’s something about textiles that brings a sense of calm and comfort. And now, as the seasons begin to change, I find myself wanting to surround myself with things that make me feel a little more cocooned. You know that feeling? When all you want is to stay inside, wrap yourself in something warm and enjoy “just” being at home.

Blankets have always been part of my family home. I remember them as a kid in baskets, draped over sofas, always within reach. I still have a few woollen blankets from my grandmother, and to this day, they’re some of the softest and warmest I own.

Perhaps that’s why I’m so happy to share this collection of handmade woollen blankets with you.

Woven by hand in the small atelier from 100% New Zealand wool, each blanket is finished with individually hand-twisted fringes. It’s a rare practice in home textiles, with one person dedicated to twisting the fringes by hand - a beautiful reminder of the time, skill and attention that go into every piece.

A simple candle transformed into something unexpected — amplified, projected and almost floating through the space.

By day, Flare reflects its surroundings, capturing and subtly distorting the world around it through the precision of its optical lens.

By night, it transforms into a beacon. The lens gathers and concentrates the glow of a single flame, unfolding it into a halo — intimate, atmospheric, a quiet dialogue between light and shadow.

Inspired by the optical principles of lighthouses, Flare turns something as simple as a candle into an experience that changes with the time of day and the atmosphere around it.

Rather than simply illuminating the space around it, the small flame becomes something almost theatrical.

FLARE

Some design pieces stay with you long after you first see them. For me, Flare was one of those pieces.

I discovered Studio Douze Degrés during Paris Design Week in 2025, and it was the light that immediately caught my attention. A simple candle transformed into something unexpected - amplified, projected and almost floating through the space.

By day, Flare reflects its surroundings, capturing and subtly distorting the world around it through the precision of its optical lens.

By night, it transforms into a beacon. The lens gathers and concentrates the glow of a single flame, unfolding it into a halo - intimate, atmospheric, a quiet dialogue between light and shadow.

I’m VERY happy that, almost a year after first meeting .douzedegres (and a couple of negronis later) they are now part of RUIMTE.

WE turned 2 🤍

And I say “we” intentionally because there would be no RUIMTE without you, the designers and artists I work with, and EVERYONE who has been part of this journey.

When I started RUIMTE, I wanted to create more than a place for beautiful objects. I wanted to create a world around design - one where craftsmanship, stories, people and interiors come together.

Two years later, RUIMTE has taken so many different turns. We’ve created pop-ups and exhibitions, organised design events, worked on interior projects, collaborated with incredible people, and had the chance to see RUIMTE featured in the press and recognised by some truly wonderful organisations and people along the way.

Looking back, I honestly cannot believe how much has happened in these last two years.

But what makes me happiest is the feeling that RUIMTE is becoming what I always hoped it could be:
• A place for discovery.
• A place for beauty.
• A place for connection.
• And a space that allows me to do what I love.

So, to you, to me, to us, and to the lucky 2. 🤍

Summer always does something to me.

It’s instant. Like a switch.

More energy, more ideas, more desire to create… and at the same time this need to slow everything down and just stay in it a little longer.

When I lived in the south of Spain, this feeling became even stronger. Life happened outside. We cooked, we ate, we stayed at the table for hours. Nothing rushed.

And every summer since, I come back to that same rhythm.

Cooking more. Inviting people over more. Opening w**e just because it’s warm outside. Letting the table become the centre of everything.

I also realised something over the years: the objects around us quietly shape these moments.

A plate, a glass, a cutlery set from my grandmother mixed with something new… it all changes how a simple meal feels.

For me, the table is a small daily ritual. A place where nothing has to match, but everything can belong.
