Rare singing bird box by the 19th century Swiss maker Bruguier.
Case : engine turned, engraved, champlever, enamel painting, silver, gold plated.
Mechanism : consist only of steel and brass parts, made by candle light, no elektricity powered machines.
Bird (with real plumes) is a bit over 2 cm long, flaps wings and tail, opens beak to the sound of the tune, turns his head....
Imagin the input of work needed to make these little jewels of mechanical art!! Only made to be enjoyed!!!
