Launching a brand is one thing. Launching it in the company of work you genuinely love and admire, that's something else entirely.
For the very first Nika YoNika visual story, I asked two of my favourite Bulgarian designers- Maria Baleva (Pottery and Poetry) and Denitsa (Studio Rrrub), if they'd share their pieces with me.
pottery and poetry with their handcrafted ceramics rooted in tradition and reimagined with a contemporary eye.
Studio RRRub with lighting that sits right at the intersection of material research and sculptural design.
What followed felt less like a product shoot and more like a conversation between objects. Thank you so much for lending your work to mine and for making this launch feel like a collaboration rather than a beginning!
But beyond the objects, there are the people behind them and I want to take a moment to acknowledge that too.
Thank you Mimi, for the encouragement when I needed it most, for every piece of advice that helped me see the road ahead more clearly, and for your genuine willingness to help Nika YoNika reach more eyes and more hearts!
Thank you Deni, for being ready to help in whatever way was needed, for the conversations and for sharing your perspective on what it means to create and exist as a designer in the world we're all navigating right now!
What we shared reminded me of something I needed to believe again: that when you truly want something to happen, you find the right people to make it happen with. 🤍
