Following my brother’s accident in 2017, I lost my creative energy for quite some time. I eventually re-engaged in my quilty passion when the reality of his situation hit me and I needed to find something to distract me from grief. This Tula100 challenge helped me to focus on small steps and ultimately I was able to finish it as a tribute to my brother. My only regret was that I was unable to share the quilt with him before he lost his battle. I think of him every day and this quilt now comforts me.

I didn't think I needed another gadget, but here we are. This little $10 bobbin binding tool from Everlasting Creative Memories (etsy.com/ca/shop/everlastingcmemories) is the boundary my binding strips desperately needed. No tangles, no twists, just pure sewing bliss.

Is it magic? Basically.

I'm a day late with my Monthly Marker. February is the shortest month but I am grateful that I was able to pack it full of good times, new memories and progress on quilty projects. This quilt topper was finished in 100 days as part of a block challenge in 2016; however, due to a variety of reasons it hasn’t been quilted. It’s finally time! The top is very large and is loaded sideways to allow me to highlight the layout of a city skyline. This should be fun but is actually quite daunting. Time to push through and get it done!!
