it’s good to be Alberta bound….🎶🎶🎶

Just to let you know the shop will be CLOSED
June 4th, 5th, 6th and 11th
as I will be going on our Sisters Trip 2.0 😍

And this time we are headed to Alberta and British Columbia!!

I am looking forward to spending time with my sisters and visiting a few relatives too! Us girls certainly had a lot of fun planning this trip and even have our sister Susan giving us regular updates
on how many more sleeps!! Ann has been busy gathering up Tracy’s favorites that she can’t get in Ponoka, I have just finished a quilt that is coming with us and Marilyn has a few treats to bring out too.
Long story short, this means an empty suitcase coming back😊
So…
If you know of any quilt shops I should visit in the Calgary, Ponoka, Edmonton and Courtenay BC area please let me know😊
( I really hope to post some pictures!)

Have you ever wished you could hang something on your gate or front door to show the world that a quilter resides within? After much thought and experimentation I have found a very simple way to hang a cotton quilt outside and not have it destroyed by sun or rain. "Point Me Home" resembles a traditional Mariner's Compass barn quilt yet it is sewn from regular weight quilt-shop cottons and treated with a waterproofing spray. You can hang it on your door or gate instead of a wreath, or decorate a porch. You can even hang it on your barn! These newly released patterns are shipping now so check at your local quilt shop; already they have arrived at Sunrise Trail Quiltery who also have fabrics to make a kit, and of course are available from my website in both print and download versions.

As many of you know, I am a big fan of the Itty Bitty pattern😊
It is quick and easy to put together, you can make any size quilt, and is a great use of scraps!
If you pop into the shop I will give you a free copy😊
( and my advice is to use what you have, don’t buy any fabric lol)

The other day Joan Ripley came into the shop as she needed just the right fabric for a border. Since I forgot to get a picture of her quilt, she invited me to her Monday morning quilting group,Quilt Expressions,at the Truemanville Fire Hall.
I have to say I was pleasantly surprised when I realized there was not one, but three Itty Bitty quilts in progress!!
And the ladies were wonderful too. They were very welcoming and I loved talking to them about their projects.

it was so very nice meeting all of you.
