Reflections Of You Interior Decorator Consultant I'm an interior decorator consultant, do-it-yourselfer and upcycler.

I was always a creative person and realized during my teaching career in Visual Arts that I wanted to pursue my passion in Interior Decorating/Design. My education experience in Interior Decorating/ Design in 2002 led me to become sole proprietor of "Reflections Of You". I have only advertised by word of mouth and it quickly became a part time job for me. My goal is to help homeowners create spaces that
are a reflection of who they are on an affordable budget. I bring affordable style to your homes and insight to reassure that what you are doing will work in your home and the confidence to move forward. This decorating journey over the years has taken me to pursue my love of upcycling furniture, repurposing found objects and creating new things for clients. As my passion and love of upcycling grew I decided not only to repurpose itmes for clients but to repurpose items that I have found and sell as my treasures. My motto is " One man's junk is another man's treasure"

This dresser already had such great bones. 💙

The drawers were in beautiful shape, but the frame needed a little more love. There was some water damage along with a few deep scratches in the veneer that needed repairing.

I wanted to preserve the character of the original piece while adding a punch of colour to give it a fresh, updated look.

I love how the colour brings a whole new energy to the dresser while still allowing its original beauty to shine through. A little repair, a little colour, and a whole new life for an old piece. ✨

Now it’s ready for its new home, and I hope my client enjoys it for many years to come!

From a 1970s basement to THIS! 🙌

So… this little project started back in 2018. Yep, you read that right. 😳

There were a few extended breaks along the way 😂, but we did manage to get the bathroom done in 2024. And now, after a LOT of work, dust, decisions, fails, wins and a whole lot of patience, we’re finally seeing the finish line!

I’ve shared a reel with little bits and pieces but here’s the bigger picture.

A huge thank you to our little team who helped pull all the finishing touches together. ❤️

We still have the stair rails and kitchenette/bar area to tackle, but honestly… I’m calling this a win! 🙌

It’s been a long road, but we couldn’t be happier with the end result!

SWIPE for the BEFORE...because this transformation is hard to believe 🤪

8 years in the making BUT here we are… almost DONE! 🙌 Just a few more areas to tackle — the kitchenette/bar will be a winter project, and then there are those stair rails waiting for us. 😜

They say Rome wasn’t built in a day… and apparently, neither was this basement! 🤣

There were some struggles, some fails and the what were we thinking moments. 🤦‍♀️
A few setbacks, a lot of hard work, plenty of problem-solving along the way and an amazing team that helped bring it all together… but also some BIG wins.

From a very dated 1970’s basement to a space that actually NOW feels like part of the home…and yes it only took 8 years! 🤣

After peeling back the layers, I knew instantly… time to pivot! 😏

This coffee table took a turn, and I couldn’t be happier with where it landed. A Pottery Barn-inspired finish that never disappoints—beautiful, warm and timeless. 🤎

Sometimes Plan B turns out better than Plan A. 😉

After sanding back the top, I instantly knew the original finish wasn’t going to work. It definitely wasn’t looking pretty!

So I changed direction and recreated a faux wood finish with a Pottery Barn feel. A little paint, a little patience, and a completely different look.

I originally had this piece in mind for my own home, but ended up going in another direction.

I listed and it sold quickly on Marketplace and found its way to one of my followers. Now, isn’t that the best 🤎

Some pieces just have that something. 🤎

This antique oak cane desk chair was already beautiful, but I saw a little more potential in it. A simple update brought out its charm, character and elegance while keeping the beauty of the original piece.

Another great find that found its way home with me.

This 1920s auction find was one I just couldn’t pass up.

The beautiful oak and cane details had me at hello — Mid-Century meets vintage charm. There’s just something about the character, craftsmanship, and beautiful details that caught my eye.

I gave this piece a new life and it has now found a permanent place in my home.

Some pieces are just too special to sell. 🥰

Built by my client’s father when he was just a teenager, this charming piece has a special story—and now, a second chance at life. ✨
With just a small update, it made a big impact and now takes centre stage as a beautiful showpiece in my client’s family room. 🤍

This piece has a story that makes it even more beautiful. My client’s father built this coffee table when he was in Grade 10, and it became the family’s living room table for years. Eventually, it was passed down to my client, who used it as a TV stand before it found its way into storage.

Now, after years tucked away, this beauty has a new life in her family room — right where she wanted it, surrounded by family.✨
