🌿 Hi all! 🌞
It's going to be another warm one! 🥵 So, talking about blankets probably seems a bit silly. 🤣
But if you are fortunate to still have elders in your family, you know air conditioning can be a tricky thing to maneuver as we head into that season. 🥶
🥰 My grandmother just turned 93 on Sunday! 😲
And so, a lap blanket to ward off the cold on her legs, or shoulders, once the A/C hits full blast, was the plan.
I chose a bunch of warm browns, and a lot of pretty little ends of skeins I had collected. 🧶
The border was then composed of all of the really small remaining lengths, in a single strand, to bring all the colours together. 🫶🏼 It's about 4'x4', and should just be long enough to lay comfortably in her lap, without being too heavy to move about. 💪🏼
For a yarn buster, I think it turned out beautifully. And her generation will appreciate the 'waste not, want not' quality behind the love in each stitch.

🪴🌞And just like that it's June! 🤪🪴

The garden is planted, the grass is growing faster than we want to be cutting it, the lilacs are in full bloom, and it won't be long before the kids are off for the summer! 🏫 🎒 🍎 🏖️
In honour of the last month of school, I'm sharing this year's teacher appreciation gifts! 🥰🤫🎁

Eira is loving our little spider plant tradition. 😍 We've repotted a bunch of new babies for the summer. It gave me a great idea for this gift. 💚 🤎

Teachers are instrumental in helping our children learn and grow! 👩🏼‍🏫 We hope they find a nice spot in the class room, or at home for these boho inspired little plant hangers, and there new baby spider plants 🕷️🪴

It was my first time incorporating beads into my crochet work, and these custom designed plant hangers are in no shortage of the newly added accessories. 📿 I may even have gone a little overboard! 🫣😬 I hope all of your littles have some inspiring educators to be thankful for this month too!

Did you know you can stitch wood too? 🪵The process of stitching wood uses little wooden biscuits or wire, to stabilize cracks or splits in wood projects, as a form of repair, or stabilization! 🤔
Why am I mentioning this, you wonder? Well...SLS was at it again! We've made plenty of stitches in our yarn art, quilting, and on our sewing machine. We've even stitched a loaf of bread! 🍞 This time, although we were prepared for the worst, no stitching was necessary. 🙌🏼🤞🏼🤣 I still took photos of the process just in case, and thought I'd share my latest project here! 🃏 My Dad had a birthday yesterday! And although my Mom put the yarn bug in my soul, my Dad put tools in my hand when I was a little girl. Long before a lot of other dads were doing it. 🛠️ And so for his big day this year, I decided to dust them off an show him a little appreciation. ♠️♥️♣️♦️ Any Rummoli fans in the group? Message below if you are! And Happy Birthday Bruce! Any wood burners out there? (PS. You can actually 'stitch' in pyrography too! 🤣🫣✒️)

🩷💜💚🎉Happy May Long Weekend All!🎉💚💜🩷

The sky is blue 💙 and the weather is wonderful. 🫶🏼Spring has totally sprung🌱!
We are rolling into summer at a great pace, but the nights are still a little chilly! 💨⛅😎👒 So, we are hoping our friend Clara (today's birthday girl), 🎂likes this sweater we made her, and maybe even has a few s'mores 🍫 🔥 around a campfire in it, one evening soon.🤞🏼
I've been loving a good old granny square vibe, 🧶 and the little bit of sparkly ✨yarn you may recognize, leftover from a recent dress 👗I made, added a perfect pop🤩 to this little yarn buster hexi cardigan.

I hope everyone is having a great day with family, reminiscing, and celebrating all the mothers and mother figures in their lives!🙏🏼💐

I'm not only loving being Mom, but am still in the thick of it with birthday parties, the beginnings of school drama, and obsessions like Labubu, and K-Pop Demon Hunters! 🤣 😈
It seemed like a good time to showcase another recent project I made for my daughter to gift her classmate Salwa for her 7th birthday! 🎉🎈She loves KDH, and I thought this custom designed tapestry crochet blanket would be a fun early spring gift to match her theme! I hope she is home with her fabulous Mum today, and maybe even snuggled under her new blankie against the weather out there! 🥶🌬️🍃

Spring is in full swing! 🌱☔ So why not share this recent little project that fits the season so well? 🤔
A wee Mister overseas ☘️ has had to wait for this little blankie! It was a start and stop. I got going, then got frustrated, and then when I got back into it, everything just clicked. 🙌🏼 Just do me a favour and don't look 🧐 too closely at the first few sheep!💚 🤣🐑🤣🐑🤣💚 Now to get it there! 🤷🏼‍♀️🫶🏼🤣✈️

🐎🎉Well 'hay' there SLS Fam!🎉🐎
It's the Carptucky Derby weekend, which yours truly gratefully attended in support of an awesome community institution. 🎡🎠🎪
I thought the Ladies Night theme was a good opportunity to showcase a recent project for our favourite Little Lady! 🩷💜
When I realised I had never made her a dress, and grandma gifted us enough yarn in such a pretty sparkly pink/purpleish blend, it seemed meant to be. 👗🫶🏼
It fits snug, so we will have to find as many chances for fancy dresses as we can, before the end of summer. She's growing fast these days. In the meantime, she was happy to head out for a quick bite looking like a little princess! 👸🏼She, of course, had to wear both hair accessories at the same time!

This morning we were stitching the bottom of an open baked sour dough loaf to increase surface tension! 🤣🍞
The windows are open 🍃, and the house smells like fresh bread! Plus, there's a few little projects on the way to your news feed, so stay tuned! 🧐

Hey all! 🦒🤎🤍🤎🤍Took us a few months to make it work, but Miss Harper, a new member of a dear friends family got her special delivery today! We hope she loves this little critter, and gets at least another month of snuggles under this blanket before the warm weather is here to stay! 🦒🤎🤍🤎🤍
