We hear this a lot. And it makes sense, because "blackout" refers to the fabric, not the result. Light still sneaks in through the sides, the top, and around the frame if the blind isn't fitted and installed the right way.

If you have blackout shades and light is still sneaking in from the sides, you don't actually have blackout shades.

That gap between the shade and the window frame is the problem most people just accept. Hunter Douglas LightLock fixes it. U-shaped side channels fit directly into your window frame and block the light that usually leaks through the edges, creating a room that is genuinely, completely dark.

My Mother bought Automatic Blinds from Salnek's Barrie location, as they were high end custom window treatments needed for her Condo. We had an issue with one of them, and they provided fantastic support. They gave us the option to have someone come and pick them up, or explained how we could do this ourselves. It was an easy process, and their staff sent us multiple resources including an app to ensure this didn't happen again. I wouldn't hesitate to use Salnek's in the future, and happily recommend them to others. Thanks again.
