Getting into the spirit of Christmas in Bayfield! 🎄

As we approach the 35th anniversary of Christmas in Bayfield (Nov. 13 to 15), the Bayfield Historical Society is excited to spread some holiday cheer by offering poinsettias for sale. Poinsettias not only make a beautiful addition to your holiday decor but also serve as thoughtful gifts. Moreover, a portion of the sales from our poinsettia fundraiser will go directly towards our efforts in preserving the shared history of the village.

The plants, sourced from Huron Ridge Greenhouses in the Municipality of Bluewater, are available in two sizes and three colours: 6-inch single and 8-inch triple in red or white or marble.

Pre-order by October 31 (we must submit our total order to Huron Ridge Greenhouses on November 1) through our easy-to-complete form at bayfieldhistorical.ca/poinsettias OR by calling our board member Nancy at 519-565-4018.

You order will be ready for pickup at the Archives, Heritage & Visitor Centre (20 Main St. N.) during Christmas in Bayfield. This beloved event holds a special place in our community, and we are excited to share in the spirit of the weekend with you. After you’ve finished browsing the shops and enjoying all the holiday cheer on Main Street, drop by (we’re next to the library) on either November 14 or 15 between 10 am and 5 pm to pick up your plants!
$13 for a 6-inch single poinsettia

$32 for an 8-inch triple poinsettia
Payment can be made to [email protected] or by cheque sent (by Oct. 31) to Bayfield Historical Society, 20 Main St. North, Bayfield ON N0M 1G0.

Excerpt from the Bayfield Breeze: The Bayfield Agricultural Society will be having a wreath sale fundraiser again this year on Nov. 13-14, coinciding with the Christmas in Bayfield weekend. Watch for advertising in the coming weeks about the wreath sale.

The group is in need of fresh greens that will be used to assemble the wreaths. Cedar, Spruce (blue or green), Pine (white and scotch), Juniper, and Yew are preferred for the variety of greens that make the wreaths so attractive.

Anyone who might be planning to have their Cedar hedge or lower evergreen branches trimmed or an evergreen tree removed before the end of October is asked to contact [email protected]. The wreath-making committee will be in touch to arrange for pickup of the trimmings.
