I joined my Mom over at The Root Cellar to pick up our garden plants… and it was a very productive visit indeed! Lots of love to my Mom for making it tons of fun, and for also grabbing an extra cart as our trays magically kept filling up…😉💚🌿
And love to the elderly lady shopping near me with the knowing smile and a sparkle in her eye, who at random kept handing me hot peppers to add to my tray. I couldn’t decline, she was so sweet! So now I have scorpion peppers, ghost peppers, reapers, spicy Thai peppers, hot Portuguese peppers and - not to be missed - jalapeños! Good thing I enjoy spice!
I found the MOST beautiful rose plant I have ever seen. The petals, the perfect shade of pale coral… Delightful! But too expensive for this already spendy day! I will dream of planting them all over my farm… (if only roses weren’t so high maintenance)
And while we intended to visit I didn’t realize they closed at 4pm on Sunday - so silly me!! We will definitely get there soon - there’s no way I’m missing out on that fried cheese!
We ended up at Longs Restaurant in the old bowling alley in Tweed for Chinese food, which was super yummy! These small town spots are little hidden gems…
So between candle-painting, painting-painting, box of moss prep and some client work, I will be elbow deep in the dirt all week and loving it!
