Did you know tulip bulbs are already working on next spring's flower?

Thank you for your tulip bulb orders.If you placed a bulb order, check your email, yesterday we sent a reminder about our 2026 Tulip Bulb Order pick-up dates OR delivery dates if you ordered in the spring through LuvLocal. Another email will be sent next week too, we know everyone has lots going on and it's been many months since you placed your order when the tulips were blooming.

Optimum planting time for tulips in Southwestern Ontario is late October / early November. We keep you tulip bulbs in storage under optimum conditions as long as we can. We don't want to bring them out too early and have the bulbs think it is spring and start to grow. But we will definitely make sure you have them in time for optimum tulip bulb planting time at the end of October.

Tulip planting art's and crafts:

With tulip planting now about a month away we are getting ready with this fun project to make a tulip butterfly emerge in the blooms next spring.

In the summertime we 𝗱𝗶𝗴 𝘁𝘂𝗹𝗶𝗽 𝗯𝘂𝗹𝗯𝘀. Check out this video showing behind the scenes views of our 2026 tulip bulb harvest.

Tulips are perennials and will continue to bloom year after year in the same spot in a garden. However, since we grow our tulips not only for you to enjoy the beautiful blooms when you visit each spring, but also for you to have bulbs to plant in your own garden, we dig them up.

The bulbs, after digging, are cleaned and graded, then stored in climate controlled storage until optimum planting time in the fall.

Grading involves removing the soil, stems, and debris that come up along with the tulip bulbs during the digging process. We also discard any tulip bulbs that are damaged or soft, which often indicates disease.

The shaker table that you see in the video really helped us clean the tulip bulbs, and cut down our cleaning/ grading time significantly.

𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗧𝘂𝗹𝗶𝗽 𝗕𝘂𝗹𝗯𝘀 is not a hard job, but definitely an important one in the process of growing tulips.

Today we commemorate 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗧𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗺 𝗗𝗮𝘆, to celebrate the importance of tourism and it's social, cultural and economic value.

We are lucky to live in Southwestern Ontario, , where supporting local and loving where we live is deeply rooted in who we are.

As a family farm with seasonal tourism experiences, during our tulip / winterberry / maple seasons, we are thankful that you love to travel and explore destinations both in your backyard and a ways down the road.

Thank you for supporting local on your adventures! Tourism not only allows us to discover new places but also bridges cultural gaps, promotes peace and contributes significantly to local economies.

𝗧𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗸 𝗬𝗼𝘂 for all the kind messages since Saturday's hail storm, 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗸 𝘆𝗼𝘂 for understanding that we had to close the tulip field for the season, and 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗸 𝘆𝗼𝘂 for visiting our farm to see the 𝘁𝘂𝗹𝗶𝗽 blooms while they lasted this 𝘀𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴!

Your thoughtfulness and messages of support during the past few days have been more than we ever expected. We're sorry that we cannot respond to each of you, but we saw your notes and truly appreciate them.

Yesterday and today we cut all the damaged tulip blooms off to force all the plants energy into the bulb. Next month we'll harvest the tulip bulbs and then plant in late fall. Although it seems far away now, the colourful display of tulip blooms will be back next spring and we can't wait to welcome you back!
