RBD Block Challenge Quilt Block #2
Block Name: Spin Around
Designer: Amy Smart

I love how this second block turned out! It is NOT as complicated as it looks either! If you are interested in doing this challenge all the free patterns are available on the RBD Block Challenge page.
So even though it looks more involved, it is a basic 4 patch block construction with each patch consisting of 2 separate blocks- all done with a straight stitch. Its a great addition to my block library!

This beautiful sampler quilt was create by my client using the Butternut & Blue "Borderland Sampler" pattern. This is a Civil War Sampler using Civil War reproduction fabrics. It is simply stunning, and is an impressive 92 inches square! I am sure that the recipient of this beauty will treasure it always! She had me quilt it with the design Lobo.

This stunning quilt my client created is a 3 yard quilt using the pattern Elegance- and it is Elegant! The pictures do not do this quilt justice! She backed it with the most beautiful Minky covered in dragonflies and florals- she had me quilt it with the design Dragonfly Wings. I know that the person receiving this wonderful gift will feel the love that was sewn into it every time she wraps herself up in it.

How beautiful is this quilt? My client is a first time quilter, taught by her boyfriend's Mom whom I taught to quilt a few years back. She has since taught all special ladies in her life to quilt! I love that the next generation is taking up this age old skill.
She did a fantastic job on this quilt from nesting her seams to block placement- I can't wait to see all of her wonderful future quilts!

She had me quilt it with the design Morning Glory and she backed it with Minky. Thank you for trusting me with your first of many quilts!

Block 1 of the RBD Block Challenge
The Block is called Four Corners and has been designed by Lori Holt. It is a pretty easy block to make. It finishes out at 10" square. The most tedious part was the small flying geese! My fabric choices are a mixture of batiks and cottons- it is a bit busy, but when added in with the other blocks it will work out great!

Keep an eye out for Block 2 next Wednesday!
