It’s with mixed feelings that I announce I will be closing my business.

Two years ago I started this small business to help with symptoms of PPD/PPA. I had no idea that it would blow up so fast and keep me so busy. I’ve loved running the bee and the birch tree for the last 2 years, so this decision was not made lightly. But I’ve come to realize that running a business while also working as a full time nurse, being a mum to two kiddos, and attempting to find balance, is friggin hard! Looking back at the last 2 years, I’ve realized that I missed out on precious weekends with my family, I pushed myself to my limits, and I didn’t prioritize my mental and physical health.

So all that being said, my plan is to continue refills until July or until I run out of supplies. After that, my dear friend Britain from has offered to take over bowl refills in my place. I’m beyond grateful to her for helping me out. Britain is a talented candle creator, and I know you’ll all be in great hands.

April will be my last month at Markets Ontario. I’m so sad to be leaving the amazing, supportive community that is Markets Ontario. But I will definitely be there every week to see my friends, purchase my favourite goodies, and support local businesses.

I’m hoping this isn’t the end of this journey. I know I’m going to miss candle making and be drawn back to it once my kiddos are older and there’s more free time. So please stay tuned.

Thank you all for following me on this journey and encouraging my passion. I’ve loved every interaction, every hug, every bit of advice. ❤️

I’m taking a pause.

As some of you may know, I pinched my sciatic nerve over Christmas. I’m still dealing with some pain and uncertainty about when it will get better. I haven’t been able to get in my garage to carve bowls since the injury. And standing to pour candles has been a bit difficult.

I think this was a big lesson for me. I haven’t been taking good care of myself - mentally and physically. Between my full time nursing job, this side business, my kids, and life in general, I haven’t had a moment to stop and breathe.

So that being said, I’m taking a pause. What does that mean? I’m not going to be making any new wooden bowls for the foreseeable future. But I will still be doing refills. I won’t be taking any custom orders. I will continue to stock my shelf at Markets Ontario. And I may take a bit longer to respond to messages while I focus on myself.

I hope you all can understand. And as always, I greatly appreciate all your support.
